Totally! He has some great qualities but he’s also too emotionally independent for his own good. I love how Jane Austen highlights how important socialization is, and how it’s different from ‘society,’ as in the constructed hierarchy and traditions. Because Darcy really equates them with each other without thinking, and avoids…[Read more]

Yayy!!!
Hmm… they are reminding me of Sabina and Turin a little. More closed-off, not believers, smaller family who probably went through some grief. I’m excited to learn more about them. I feel like the father is already suspicious of them… meaning he might be really opposed when they bring up God… but Liesl will probabl…[Read more]

Knew it. I find it more funny than most, because I and my friend have been compared to Darcy and Bingley before. She had to teach me to enjoy line dances, because I was more skittish than a cat. XD Darcy is a kindred spirit of mine.

That picture of Darcy made me wheeze for some reason. XD Is the comparison because he’s hostile in the beginning and has darker hair than Aaron? Because Darcy and Bingley are definitely an iconic introvert/extrovert duo, and that’s what I think of when I see them.

Leo
“Well…” Leo dragged out the word into a verbal smile. “First things first, you’ll need to get cleaned up for the day. I have some extra clothes you can have, and most of those bandages need changed too. Then breakfast. If you need help with anything, please let me know. I’ve been knocked about a few times before. Leaves…[Read more]

Maybe having Leon point that out would help readers realize it more?

Leo
“Whoa, kid, don’t knock yourself out.” Leo got to his feet, setting Quincy down in the chair behind him and reaching to steady the comforter entangled boy. He caught Rory’s flailing hand. Dazed green eyes turned to look at him. Confused.
“Rory, sit back down.” He offered gave a gentle smile. “I don’t think you’re fully awake yet.

Ok. I am in the middle of section 2. I’ll go back and finish it. I’m just so… amazed.

“Ah, love. It’ll make you jump into a snake filled marsh and take on a guarded convent single highhandedly–– despite the fact that the king has a price on your head–– to rescue the one you love. Sometimes love is dunderheaded!”
This quote feels familiar to me, but I cannot recall what it is from.

Julian reached over for his rucksack. “I wonder what Amelia packed,” He opened it and looked through the contents. “Lots of bread, dried meat, corn meal, dried fruit… oh yes! Raisin cakes!”
I like Rasins. Good for Leon and Julian not rejecting them.
They started off through the woods, looking up at the tall trees about them. The…

Where?!? Quick, grab some straw!
(did you draw that?)
No. It’s from a comic strip called ‘Customer Service Wolf’, which is about a pack of wolves who run a bookstore and have to deal with annoying customers. Since I am currently working in retail, I find it kind of funny and relatable.

I say go for it! The memory loss thing is good, and the fact that he tries to join the Kunulfs. It separates it from WF. Plus, Andrew Peterson pulled a Beauty and the Beast to begin with. There’s not a romance, but trust me, there are plenty of similarities. And beauty and the beast pulled from the Bible. (see D…
