*gasps in relief and grabs his hand like a lifeline.* NO! Not at all! I’d love to!
(my life is a wreck this week, in case you haven’t noticed. 🤣)
We redecorated the neighborhood, so to speak.
That is amazing! This two have got an awesome relationship! I can’t wait to read their book!

Leo: *gentle if slightly confused smile* Of course. Do…do you mind staying with Silvia?
Leo
War heroes? A frown creased Leo’s brow. Had this kid ever even deamed a childhood? “No. Just a bunch of kids walking home from school. They saw the sidewalk had a new square of pavement, and decided it would be fun to write their names…[Read more]

Okay, so my brain has been reading things with interesting twists to words. I literally just read that as “We’ve reached 500 papayas, guys.”

yes!! I do!!! Can I be adopted too?!?? 🥹🥺
Rory
Rory drew in a slow breath as Leo turned off the flame. For a moment that awful scene had threatened to flash through his mind. Thankfully, he’d fought it back.
This time.
“There, all done. Now we let that cool and don’t let any kids sign their names in it like they did the pavem…[Read more] -

Leo
His eyebrows quirked, but he didn’t question Rory’s agitated silence. God knew what was going through the kid’s head.
He flicked the torch on to a low, white flame. The sealent bubbled a bit under the heat. He slowly turned it up to a much hotter blue, thankful for his well fired gauntles. His visor closed of it’s own…[Read more]

Rory
“I’ve done this plenty,” Leo said. “Maybe not on tile, but heaps of other stuff. Did it hanging off my ship once when we had an air leak out of atmosphere.”
Ship…. atmosphere. That meant a flying ship. An airplane.
fighter jets

Oh you’re not the one. It was more like you voiced what was already bothering me. I’m sorry if I made it seem like it was somehow your fault. 😌
Maybe God will use this book will encourage Christians to venture into dangerous places to share the gospel!
I’d like that. But even more, I wanted it to wake people up to the fact…[Read more]

Leo
He waited for Rory to move back before slipping on his helmet, but, just as he readied the torch, something told him to stop.
Why is he staring at me?
“You good kid? Do you-” Leo stopped, fingers about to drop his visor frozen in place. Something about the kid reminded him of a test pilot who’d nearly gone down with his…[Read more]

Oh It’s not just @linus-smallprint. He just said a few things that have already been bothering me in the back of my mind. It’s this aggravating struggle to rewrite something and pull it out of the ditch of not-so-great writing and up to the level I have worked to achieve now.
It’s always been a story that’s been close to my heart,…[Read more]

Unless you have something exponentially more important, I’d say go for it.
Why? What reason do I have?
(not to sound dark or depressed. But is it truly worth it?)

Rory
Rory slid back, but his eyes were locked on Leo’s hands in a half memorized, half terrified stare. There was a very bad memory at the edge of his mind, and he didn’t know what it was, but he really didn’t want it let out.

I know. *sobs*
Okay, sounds good. Maybe next week?
*sighs* some of this feedback is depressing. I wonder……. these books were written so long ago and comparing them to the stuff I have written now, they’re just not as good at all. Are they even worth trying to rewrite? Rewriting is so hard….. is the message and…[Read more]

I’ll look at this right away!

Leo
“We’re going to fix this tile.”
He opened the bottle of sealant and carefully poured it into the cracks between shards. It pooled over the tile in a nice, whitish gloup. Using a paint scraper from his belt, Leo spread the stuff out until both broken tiles were covered in an even layer.
“This stuff will set up hard as steel…[Read more]

leaving the kid anywhere didn’t seem…wise. He had a back for getting into pickles.
Love that!
Rory
Rory winced slightly at the list Leo had rattled off. He’d used just about every one of those things. And the memories that accompanied the usage were bad. Very bad.
“Looks like we’ve got most of this. Ready for a blowtorch?” Leo asked…[Read more]

“Ah! Many thanks. You didn’t cut yourself, did you?”
Rory looked down at his gloved hands and shrugged. Leo carefully picked up the shard. It slipped in place, filling the largest gap.
Maybe he wouldn’t need aluminum alloy after all. Which was good. He’d have had to leave Rory here guarding their work to go find some, and…[Read more]

Rory
Rory’s eyebrows went up. “You build bombs?”
He dropped to his knees beside Leo and instantly recoiled with a stifled gasp of pain. He quickly shifted to a sitting position, absently rubbing his injured knee. Something sharp pricked his other hand and he held up a thin shard. “I found another.”

Leo
“Eh, maybe.” He looked up, eyebrows bunching together. “Except the plan is to get everything to fit perfectly together. So, maybe.”
He settled another piece in place. One tile was coming together quite nicely.
“I’d think of it more like fitting a bomb shell with it’s cordinants. All the bits have to be just so, or your…[Read more]
