@daisy-torres Cool! I ate lunch and got distracted and did 555 words. (Aw haha, thanks for your comments!)
Favorite line:
The boy gave a half smile that unsettled Akira. “He smelled of smoke and magic.”

Lin replied to the topic What is your favorite type of hero and why? in the forum Topic of the Week 5 years ago
@kathleenramm I like the self-sacrificial hero
that doesn’t get raised from the dead, thank you very much. I really enjoy seeing self-sacrifice in characters, not just main characters, but even antagonists too. I think that one of the reasons why Lelouch from Code Geass is such a good main character (Code Geass spoilers ahead) is because by…[Read more] -

@nova21 Honestly I’m a huge dreamer too so I have the same problem. XD

@nova21 Write down your new ideas in like a notebook or a doc or something. Make a plan for finishing the current novel as well as a daily schedule. For example, for me with March of Wrath, I’m doing 5 pages a day for a total of 40 days. Sometimes I get left behind and as a result, this week I’ve been doing 11 pages, which has been considerably…[Read more]

@iluvhim18 Awesome! I’ve never bothered to think about food in my fantasy works, haha. (In fact, do they eat at all? Hmm….)
Do you want to tell me a bit about it? How is it different from our world’s?

@madwoman Hi there! Welcome to the forum! I’m Linyang, though most around here call me Lin. I’m also on SE! Lovely to meet you!
Ah, I’m also a dancer! And dance totally counts as a sport!
And I absolutely love music! Do you play any instruments?
What are some of your favorite desserts? Also, pineapple on pizza? Yes or no?
Hope to see you…[Read more]

Lin replied to the topic What is your least favorite type of hero? in the forum Topic of the Week 5 years ago
@kathleenramm Ah, yeah, this is probably the reason why I don’t really like superhero movies…though yes, I do see people like that, and also for wish-fulfillment, but what’s writing without a little

SeekJustice replied to the topic Writing Kiss Scenes in the forum Romance 5 years ago
Well, I’m a little late to the conversation but I’m keen to get on board! I’m not much of a romance writer (or reader) and my kiss scenes are so awkward and stilted, lol. Any tips for the twenty-year-old who hasn’t got past the “ew, boys are gross” stage of life?

@gracie-j Ahem. Yes. I used to do the “He kissed her.” thing. Recently I’ve been trying to take some advice in, uh, describing it. Me, trying to describe what it feels like out of my own imagination:
I also tend to cut things short, so you’ll probably be ending up with like a paragraph long thing. But yea, I might give it another try next time I…[Read more]

@nanisnook Yes, very red.
@gracie-j Mm…maybe, maybe. You’ve seen how I skimp on descriptions. I mean…I guess if I can imagine kiss scenes…that might…hmmm….
Ah, yes, GWTW was very very spicy. And also, mood about cheek-kissing.
1. I’m sure there are, haha. I wouldn’t call the first scene…[Read more]

@gracie-j Ah, shoot, I left for too long and my post disappeared…never mind.
Pfft, thanks for tagging me, even with what you know about me. I like to feel included.
Ah, before I read your scene I don’t think I’ve read a kiss scene for maybe 6 years? Not sure. And usually I either avert my eyes during movies or watch with some sort of wide-eyed…[Read more]
