@daeus hmmmmmm…… I personally would stick to appealing by genre instead of life struggles…. because in the end the character normally is better (now I haven’t read it all yet sooooo….) but in real life when we finish the book were still the same and it can be kinda depressing. I don’t know if anyone else can relate to that…
I still don’t…[Read more] -

@daeus *dances* Yay! Destruction to telling!

@daeus Well, the version of a synopsis I know is a maximum of 10 page summary of a book that describes the plot, characters, message, world and the writer’s thoughts. Soooo… I assume these are slightly different things in Australia. That’s all.

@daeus
Well, big thoughts is mainly that you should take out the last paragraph, because although you’re trying to appeal with struggles like that, people might not want to think of themselves as weak or cowardly, if you know what I mean. Maybe they know that subconsciously, but who wants to admit that they are a coward? I mean, a Christian might…[Read more] -

@daeus I assume American’s call a blurb a synopsis? If so, this is great!

@daeus, do you mind if I try rewording your synopsis a bit? I just want to see if I could possibly word it better. (sorry, I’m like that)

@daeus – great synopsis. I agree with @kate-flournoy about the first sentence. It seemed a little too long; not attention-grabbing enough..:)
And I liked the way @salome01w4g reworded your last paragraph.
Personally, I think it just needs a little bit of rewording; in places it’s kind of long and doesn’t seem quite “powerful” enough, but oth…[Read more]

@daeus Okay *looks over the top of my glasses* 😉
First I would re-word the first sentence, it doesn’t seem to flow and seems forced. It just doesn’t sound right. Kate’s example is much easier to read.
I also agree with Kate about the part about Jerold (which how dare you make a lesser character so intriguing. Really I wanna know more about him.…[Read more] -

@daeus
Hm… the setting itself sounds pretty original. I like that,
buuuut, it sounds just a BIT cheesy or something like that. I mean, who HASN’T heard of the guy who’s (cowardly, some type of life-problem, “weak”, etc.) who rises up to save his friends from some evil guy with “undefeatable” weapons.The story isn’t bad, but I just wouldn’t…[Read more]

@kate-flournoy He forgot to tag me too. Can we take over the kingdom now? How bout now? Now?
@daeus Well…do you want my big thoughts or little thoughts? -
Kate Flournoy replied to the topic Synopsis Help in the forum Novel Idea Critiques 8 years, 7 months ago
@Daeus *sniffs* You forgot to tag me.
But looks like I’m first to the party anyway, so here goes. XDFirst off, I really like it. The only suggestions I have are a few tweaks to the wording.
The first line, I think, would be better as simply ‘Trevor is in a mess. After traveling back in time, he and his sister are now…’ etc. It leaves out…[Read more]

@daeus, okay, yeah. I’m not that far into its development yet so I hadn’t thought of that. Huss had followers that others deemed “Hussites”. Do you think the story of one of them would make a good subplot?
@salome01w4g, yup. I’ll definitely keep that in mind. I’m not adding things like new storylines and stuff that’ll change what really…[Read more]

Hey guys, thanks!
@salome01w4g, it’s BASED on real events, but the fun part is filling in the parts where you don’t know exactly what or HOW something happened.
As for the subplots, @daeus, what do you mean? I was planning on having it go on almost like a chase. With people beginning to question their loyalty, more pressure on Huss to translate…[Read more]

@raevynstar Ooh! He does sound like a great character. For someone who controls fire, he doesn’t sound like very much of a fighter, which I think is great, because when someone thinks fire, they think of a fighter. Nice and unique, that one. *thumbs up*
If you want to improve him, I’d discover some of his quirks. What does he do when he’s…[Read more] -

Hey, @raevynstar. I’m new here too.
I really like science fiction and poetry as well, (among other things), but if you’ve ever heard of Michael Crichton than you can consider me one of his fans.I only listen to TWO Twenty One pilots songs. (I’m picky about what I listen to).
Anyways, when @daeus asked you about your personality types, he meant…[Read more] -

Why not BOTH? God is all and omnipotent and we can not possibly hope to…[Read more]
