@jenwriter17 I’ve heard amazing things about The Promised Neverland, but I think I’m far too sensitive for that one lol. I love Haikyuu, though! Who’s your favorite character/team? My favorite characters are Bokuto and Sakusa, and my favorite team is probably Fukurodani or Inarizaki (my real favorite is a spoiler sooo…)
That’s the issue with Haikyuu. The characters are all so adorable and well developed that you kind of can’t help but root for all of the teams :’)
@anatra23 I do Haikyuu fanart (maybe you’re noticing a pattern here lol)*laughs as one fey*
@devastate-lasting *side-eyes Haikyuu fandom* yeah I feel that.
*laughs as one fey*
@devastate-lasting I have a friend who got into Bungou Stray Dogs recently, and she seems to really like it!

@anatra23 ooh that’s a tough one. The dub is way funnier than the sub, since it’s super chaotic and really just perfectly captures actual conversations that high school kids might have (so it’s basically dumber lol). Personally, I prefer the sub because I can’t understand the swearing (haikyuu has some language, but it’s nothing too intense. The language really gets toned down in S4, and it’s virtually nonexistent in the manga).
Does anyone in here do fanart of their favorite animes/mangas? I’ve been on a fanart roll lately, so I thought I would ask 🙂

OOH OOH HAIKIYUU!
That’s the only anime I watch, but it’s soooo good. The manga is absolutely amazing, too. I still need to read the first half, but so far it seems like the anime adapted it really, really well! Hopefully season five comes out soon…
I don’t even like sports and I think it’s fantastic. It’s definitely a slow burn (S1 is kinda boring because it’s mainly set up), but the characters/character development is just so good, plus the S4 soundtrack is incredible.
I’ve heard that Jujutsu Kaisen and Violet Evergarden are both amazing, and I’ve had Your Lie in April recommended to me as well.

@lydia-s thanks! Well, you should at least keep it in mind 😉 trust me, I know how it feels having a ton of stories at once lol (arcs in my case – all of my stories were set in the same world)

Sakusa redraw because a. I didn’t draw his hair curly enough the first time and b. I wanted a new pfp 🙂 It makes me kind of sad to change it, though. I got attatched to my raven 🙁

@lydia-s chickadees are so cute! That’s great that you were able to find inspiration in their calls! Steampunk is really cool. I had a setting that was kind of like a post-apocolyptic steam punk thing, but I don’t really use it any more. Once you finish your current story, you should totally write the steampunk trilogy!

@scripter-of-kingdoms yep, the characters are the best! You’ll have to let me know if you end up liking it 😉 Now that you point it out, I can see that it’s pencil, but I still think it looks amazing!

@scripter-of-kingdoms he looks great! I love the shading- it looks so natural, even though you were using pens!
*laughs as one fey*
@keilah-h thank you!
@scripter-of-kingdoms YES! It’s sooo good. It’s a slow burn, so personally I found season one a bit boring, but it was setting up a lot of the conflict and character development in later seasons. The character development is top tier btw. Literally every character has character development, even the characters from the rival teams. There was this one character on a team they were playing who had like maybe three minutes of screen time, and they managed to give him character development in those 3 minutes! It feels very natural, too, instead of shoehorned in. Plus, all of the characters are very flawed and human, and there’s a ton of super sweet and wholesome friendships between characters on rival teams! I can’t recommend this show enough lol. It does have some swearing and a few questionable scenes, but overall it’s pretty clean. Also, I’m going to warn you ahead of time, a lot of the series is basically watching the main cast play volleyball, so if you hate volleyball then it might not be the best fit lol. Then again, I hate watching sports, but I love it! It actually inspired me to get into volleyball (not yet, but hopefully in the near future).*laughs as one fey*
@scripter-of-kingdoms thanks! Yeah, it’s my latest obsession lol. I’ve almost finished it (at least until season 5 comes out 😉 ) Have you seen it?
*laughs as one fey*
Kiyoomi Sakusa from Haikyuu! I don’t really do lineart very often, but I’m happy with how it turned out. I think he turned out quite nicely 🙂
*laughs as one fey*
@scripter-of-kingdoms I love shading too! It’s always hard for me to decude whether or not to make it more realistic or stylized, cause shading can really make or break the effect. I love how he’s realistic, but also really stylized at the same time. You did a great job!

October 1, 2021 at 1:26 pm in reply to: Fanart (or, as my phone tried to correct it to, “Canary”) #104796Bokuto from Haikyuu 🙂 This is actually the first fanart I’ve done for this show! It doesn’t exactly look like him, but I’m still very proud of how it turned out.
