If you go way back in the Art Sharing for All topic, you’ll find where I first asked for help on how to stop drawing realistically. On the very next page is the drawing that started it all. (Also excuse my lack of prose then. I was 14 and I sounded like a little kid lol.)

The ice look could be explained as glass with imbedded etchings of snowflakes. Yes, it would probably be cold, but unless people are touching it, I doubt they’d catch on that something is very wrong with this item (which I assume is what you’re trying to do with this defying nature idea.)
