@everyone
Since Ellette clears 500 words every time she breathes, I’m going to do one plank for every 5000 words she writes.
🤣
I am pausing this topic. I have roughly 100 planks to complete.

Okay okay okay okay okay, hold your horses Miss Giselle. *ahem*
I don’t know if you know this, but that would be a 300 page manuscript. Even if you were a confident writer who doesn’t pause to think, you would still have to write alllll day and you would probably have to be a professional typist in order to not get carpal tunnel…[Read more]

I’d go to the dark side if it were led by a duck man.😂

I’m not sure how the belt tradition started, guys. I bet it started with clothing differences to tell who was a master or not, and they streamlined over time to something more practical.
@ellette-giselle
I need time, I’m sorry for not getting him done yet 😢 -

I do!! Oh, you are sarcastic? XD
This looks like a good start, I love pyro stories!
It helps to think of the key problems in the story. They are the “why” of the conflict, the reasons for the plot to exist. Characters can disagree and want different things. Sometimes a story introduces a question, and each character has a different…[Read more]

Winnifred
Win stifled a scream with her hand and stumbled back a few paces as the statue moved towards her and started speaking. Watson spooked and darted behind her legs.
After a moment of shock, she took her hand off her mouth.
“I- I don’t know. Just appeared… Wha- Who are you?”
Watson’s tail brushed against her leg.
“Do you hear…[Read more]

Felicity
“Hello, hall walker!” Felicity greeted her fellow student with a grin. “Nice hat.”
Lois finished climbing in behind her, the ink vine retracting back into his hand.

I’m so glad y’all are enjoying this! Your encouragement helps us keep it up. So far it’s plotted out to last us well nigh New Year’s.
I do have bad tidings though. We are entering “IsitreallyfinallsweekalreadywhydidweenrollineightweekclassescanyoudieofessaysIthoughtIhadstudiedIdon’trememberanythinganymore.” A…[Read more]

Oh, it sounds fascinating so far! I like your characters and the world is intriguing. I’ll wait to add critiques untill I understand you story more. 🙂
(By the by, I only have 16 pages for my “main” WIP, and all but four is just me getting distracted by the various backstories. But let’s not despise the day of small things. [Zec 4:10])

People have added teachers! Many of them are meant to be used by anyone, but there are a few (? at least one) that belong to certain writers. I’ve thought about doing the same thing.

Marcel
“So… They went for me, because they want him, because they want his brother, because they want you. What’s your name?”
“Rory.”
Marcel thought on this for a second. He took Rory’s hand and swung it up and down, an exhausted shake. “Nice to meet you.”

*dissolves into a jumble of joy bubbles*
It’s the little Natan boy! Awwwww.
Another great example on how to make a character sympathetic, despite being “cold as the alps.” XD
Also one of the worst heartbreaks I’ve had over a character. Thank you for reminding me.
*sniff*

Yep
Marcel
“Sure I do.”
“What happened?”
“A bunch of guys started stalking the kid. Didn’t like that.” Marcel paused to hiss through his teeth, and lightly relaxed his wings. “I would have stuck with normal street fighting, but they kept coming so I had to improvise.”

I did not intend for my character to get this hurt. 😂 I anticipate he will be very chill about the whole thing and probably skip hospital. Even if that’s a poor decision.
Marcel
Voices rose and moved. Marcel opened his eyes; the fuzzy light of an electric bulb hung over the couch he lay on. He didn’t have the best…[Read more]
