Lois
“Not particularly,” Lois answered, assuming the question was directed at both of them. He forced himself to stop drawing and set down his pen, then his hid his arm with his sleeve again. He gave the kids who had spoken to Viktor a cold look, which none of them noticed. Then he looked at Viktor. “You seem…[Read more]

Researching other ethnic backgrounds feels so much harder than I want it to be. So many different places, so many different people.

Thank you very much!
Of course! *Tips hat*
That was really helpful about the description thing. I think that makes more sense. I wonder too if I over-did the “buzz” words in dystopian literature because I was trying to cut down on description. XD I’ll totally look at that.
I get that. Descriptive words have so many different quali…[Read more]

I’m good with that! It’s a fun group of expected differences and surprising similarities.
@loopylin That would be interesting. 😂 I have a feeling she fights rough.
I guess I should answer Hugo’s question, lol.

Hooray! Evan got a board! Some of the quotes on Jason’s remind me of my grandfather. He’s an engineer. XD I like Cassion already, though his Romanesque name in a dystopia is messing with my brain. XD With school, work, and dance starting, I likely won’t be as consistent with this book. You may get a week’s worth of comments each…[Read more]

I listen to rock and metal sometimes
Someone made a heavy metal version of The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything. It’s awesome. XD
I don’t usually listen to rock, rap, (except Hamilton. I love Hamilton), or pop, but I LOVE jazz. (I’m listening to Frank Sinatra as I write this). I’d chalk this up with the food questions in w…[Read more]

I just released that band might cause you pain to look up because the Google search makes them look satanic. 😅😭 They do not worship a demon, point blank, and I can explain that if need be.

Hey! 🙂 I haven’t thought about this in a long time, but I agree with everyone else on this thread. Just because a genre of music has been used to spread bad messages does not mean the genre itself is bad.
Take jazz, for example. There are many different jazz songs, and these songs have been the backdrop for cozy, peaceful memories…[Read more]

I’m not an expert on this, but would say that as long as the song itself does not glorify sin, it probably falls in with eating meat sacrificed to idols. Paul teaches that one person may be able to eat it with the understanding that God made all things and the food is just food and can be eaten to glorify God instead, but another…[Read more]

Characters:
~Which character(s) did you find the most compelling/relatable/believable and why?
Some of the characters had very compelling characteristics, like Jim’s human decency and Evan with his likable dialogue. They all served their roles and were decently memorable. Jonathan was my favorite because he was the POV…[Read more]

This one’s fascinating. I like him, even though he’s probably not a great guy… yup. You said he’s a villain. Oh well. XD Let’s see…
The board is both straight forward and mysterious, so I’m guessing the character is pretty similar. The child aspects are most interesting to me, since I can’t tell if they represent him or someone he…[Read more]

I’m trying to fill out these feedback questions before I lose track of what’s happening. *Types furiously*
Someone suggested I cut the last section of the blurb and leave it with the part about Jonathan’s friendship because it has more of a cliffhanger. What do you think?
I say remove the part about tragedy striking, and only…[Read more]

Oh joy! Oh exultation!
I haven’t been able to really look at this thread in a bit. (Been up to my elbows in royal icing.) Now oh!
I’m so excited. It’s this book! Hooray!
I love Cassion and Rory’s boards. They’re perfect.

Hugo“Physical education. All the high school kids will be there.” Hugo waited until Viktor looked up from his desk again. He bent over so their faces were on the same level, and studied the other boy’s eyes. “Do people normally badger you like that?”
