@elfwing Nope… that’s never happened to me before! XD I have a tendency to slam down my book and yell at it whenever there are problems. XD

I loved first person POV, just it being in present tense bothered me for quite a while. I can’t remember which books I read that were present tense or past tense first person POV. XD I know that Hunger Games was one of them. And maybe Instant Karma by Marissa Meyer? And Summer Blue Bird by Akemi Bird Blue? Oh, also 100 days of…[Read more]

@calidris sounds good! what i mean by plotting is that i need help with whether scenes are too vague and if im getting what i mean to write across

@elfwing alright! I might be able to help with prose, but I’m not very good at plotting. I might be able to critique small sections at a time, and just give you general writing advice 🙂

@elfwing ooh i see. I personally don’t have that problem, but there might be someone else who does 🙂
It’s only if you want to. I don’t want you to feel pressured or anything. It’s something that I’ve been considering recently, just for people in general. I have to warn you, though, I might not be able to dedicate a lot of time because of sc…[Read more]

@calidris haha no it wasn’t the question really, but I will accept it if you want to. I was just wondering if I’m the only person who fills in the holes/problems in books to such an extent I don’t see the problems XD

@elfwing I don’t know if this is what you’re asking, but I would be up for being a beta reader if you need something critiqued, or just giving you advice 🙂

ok, I want to ask this very random question…
I am odd in the fact that I can take a book that bores my friends to death because it’s too longwinded or not well executed in writing, and still enjoy it because I can fill in the problems?
This is great for enjoying a book, but it also can cause problems because now when I read anything, I fill in…[Read more] -

Elfwing replied to the topic What's the harshest critique you've ever received about your writing? in the forum Topic of the Week 5 years ago
@kathleenramm The toughest criticism of anything I had, would be my mom on a story I wrote. it was very ridiculous, even for a 12-year-old’s writing and she told me as much and that I could definitely improve it. She said it lovingly, but at that point, it didn’t matter how she said it, it stung my childish pride. XD It was for my schoolwork and…[Read more]

@sparrowhawke *oh shoot i didn’t mean to type mana on the summary for THBoH XD it’s called aera, just clarifying 🙂
Also, aera IS NOT magic. It is power (for lack of a better word) granted to the faerie races by God so that they can protect themselves, heal, etc. It’s just their natural God-given defense like a porcupine has quills and a bear…[Read more]

I have only ever read the first book in Percy Jackson series and that’s it. I know that’s probably not a good judge for the whole series, I really don’t care for the Greek mythology at all, which is the whole point of the series, right? Exploring Greek Mythology in the modern times and all that? I’m sorry. I feel bad for not liking it…[Read more]
