Good! That does make a big difference in the layout.
Exactly. I’ve seen it used well (Narnia, Wingfeather) and I’ve seen it otherwise (let’s not go there). It’s a tool in writing that needs a lot of control, if that makes sense.
What I call True Fantasy; not exactly an allegory, but still a parable of sorts. A tale of truth…[Read more]

Interesting pictures…
(Also, do you know the Russian is the top left corner on the first picture means On the Edge? It’s making me wonder what that means.)

Welcome to this side of the Kingdom! *Hands you a slice of cream pie*
Ooo, True Fantasy! (Or at least that’s what I call it)
It sounds good. Is it still a romance, or is that now a subplot? Is there magic in this world?
Also, do you need any help with anything?

Zlatan
Novembré nearly fell, but was snatched through the window instead.
Thank the Maker.
Zlatan glanced around the group. Vulk was bouncing on the balls of his feet.
He sighed. “Go on.”
Vulkasin flashed up and in, ignoring the rope. Which was probably a good thing…
“Now,…[Read more]

So… I’m working on the important ages in Eirtan. This is a mix between medieval and ancient societies, so it gets interesting.
For boys:
14 is of course, the age of accountability/adulthood. (Like a Bar Mitzvah, only different) 21 is the age when one is considered grown up – a man. (It’s also kinda traditional age to get…[Read more]

Mikkel
Seven up, five to to go.
Oh, and himself. That made six.
For a moment no one moved toward the rope, each waiting for another.
“Ara, November?” Mikkel smiled at them, “your turn?”

Viktor
That was… Interesting. He’d been too distracted watching Lyn escape certain injury by her fingernails, and recovering from the nervous shock the sight had sent through the group to notice what Crosshair was up to.
Next thing Viktor knew, the man was through the window and calling down…[Read more]

Hi! *Enthusiastic wave* good to see you around.
Freedom’s advice is probably better than anything I could give, especially as I’ve never written a conversion scene.
And I will probably be referring to her list myself. =)

Vulkasin
Steeling himself, Vulkasin took the child from Eva, holding her as if she were made of silk and paper. Desperatly trying to avoid waking her he passed her up, making no sudden moves.
He stepped away from the wall. Air filled his lungs. Had he been holding his…[Read more]
