Corissa Maiden of Praise started the topic Farewell Josiah in the forum Poetry 6 years, 8 months ago
The sad departure of our editor-in-chief, @aratrea, inspired me to write a poem to commemorate our time with him and our hopes for his future.
Dubbed the “wiser” of our group,
A frog upon his head,
He led us into worlds unknown,
As he blazed the trail ahead. He blessed us with his stories,
He lent a helping hand,
He helped us grow, he helped us…[Read more] -

@Corissa-Maiden-of-Praise Hey Brianna, thank you for the card with the cute stickers and things you sent! That was a pleasant surprise. And the card’s SO pretty. Sheet music and flowers—lovely combo. 😉
I’m definitely looking forward to Spring as well. Especially all the growing stuff, and the just-right weather.
Thanks so much. 😀 -

@reaganramm Wow! Thanks so much! This is infinitely helpful! I was wondering about this because I read an article about someone who said never to talk about your novel before publishing it because it would make the book jaded whenever it came out, but now I think that article was probably wrong. XD 😛
Well, I knew I wanted to publish before I go…[Read more]

@the-real-kapeefer Hey Daniel! So, I don’t know if you ever read the Legend of Kind Daeus stories I wrote a long while back, but I was wondering…
If you would like to be the semi-villain in the next one? Basically, you’d try to lead a rebellion against the kingdom. Take over. Something cliche like that. XD
-
Absolutely, just whatever you do just don’t make me cliche 😉
Maybe make me like a Loki role to Josiah (if he was Thor) idk something like that but different and unique. -
@dragon-snapper @the-real-kapeefer Seconded. That’s a great idea XD
(Sorry to butt in to the converstion…)-
@dekreel *glances at you* And it’s mine. No stealing. XD 😛
@the-real-kapeefer It shall be done. *whenever I find the time*
-
Gotcha. All yours 😉

(And Audrey, I also redid my blog button, if you could update that too. 😀 Thanks! )

@Sam-Kowal ha! Well, remind me, and I will. ;P
And YES. Depth is everything. If you can boil your entire world down to a single deep, resonant core story/concept, so much the better for you. Hard to stress enough how important that is. Focus on what you have and make it so magical you don’t have to go look for other things to distract you.

Another question.
I was wondering what your thoughts were on talking and sharing about your novel before it’s published? If you’re planning to get published within the next few years, should your novel facts and characters and everything else go incognito?
For example, if I were to talk about my novel on my blog, would that be…[Read more]

@Daeus I’ll have you know I was racing to get that typed out before you posted and said all my stuff for me. XD
No, good points though. Maps are important… I have them… in my head… XD Allegorical and historical elements too. Oooh ooh, in fact @Joy, I actually have a cool thing for you. Four ‘pillars’ for you to figure out, that’ll give you…[Read more]

@Joy excellent question. Someday I want to write a book on worldbuilding, but I’ll try to refrain from dumping the entire tome off on you right here. XD
The first thing, I think, is to realize that worldbuilding is not so much a list of facts about where your story takes place as it is a key— like the key on a map— to discovering why your…[Read more]

*grins* Glad you got it! Spring is definitely a wonderful time of year. Anne of Lothlorien actually started Operation Winter Cheer, so she’s partly to “blame” as well. 😉
Then I thank you as well, Morgan. 😉
