We’d love to answer any specific questions or struggles you’re currently having in your writing!
So if you’re willing, share below what you need help with, and the more specific you can be, the better!
Examples:
- I need help creating interesting characters that aren’t cardboard cutouts
- I need help building a rich and unique story world
- I need help building a following of readers. I don’t even know where to begin!

- Characters. Anything and everything. I can’t seem to make an interesting character so save my life.
- Knowing when to quit a story. I tend to keep getting more ideas and prolonging the story.

Another question.
I was wondering what your thoughts were on talking and sharing about your novel before it’s published? If you’re planning to get published within the next few years, should your novel facts and characters and everything else go incognito?
For example, if I were to talk about my novel on my blog, would that be bad?
(And if the question would better be answered here than in a video, by all means, answer it here. 😛 )

We’ll shoot a video on this, but I can give a quick answer here.
In short, definitely!
First of all, why is your timetable so long? Why not publish this year?
Second, I think it’s a great idea to talk about your novel. In fact, the more the better!
Did Disney keep it a secret when they were planning The Force Awakens?
No! They announced it years ahead of time.
They also provided a lot of behind the scenes footage.
The result was lots of people DYING to go see it!
You are a writer, so you know about building suspense. Talking about your novel before it comes out builds suspense and creates curiosity. This is also known as creating “buzz”.
So you can go all out, even vlog or blog your journey writing your novel, or just mention it. But I say the more content you provide beforehand, the better.
And this will also help you build a following BEFORE you publish your novel, which you definitely want to do, because when you do launch, you have a group of people who are highly likely to buy, especially if you’ve built up that personal relationship with them through behind the scenes content and social media.
The only downside is now you’re on the clock, and you actually have to deliver, and deliver by your deadline. But this is actually a good thing too! It provides extra accountability to get your novel finished and publish.
Plus, if you’re talking about your novel beforehand, you can also create a pool of people who may be interested in being on your launch team.
