My dad knows both Hebrew and Greek! He always goes back to the source when writing a sermon. Freedom is right that there isn’t always an English equivalent, but translations usually try to find the best word/s as a replacement. Luckily that doesn’t affect the meaning of the original text, and if you can find a source of knowledge on…[Read more]

I also think we should be very careful to not put God in a box. He knows way more than we do…he can do so much more than we can ever do. We may be created in his image, but we are NOT God.
What seems impossible, silly, or even insane to us could be the exact thing God uses for his own glory.
God doesn’t belong in a box, and we shouldn’t…[Read more]

So here’s my question though, how do you know that scripture is infallible?
We can’t know if it is or not, besides through the faith of the Spirit. But what is the most logical option?
If you take Biblical philosophy and try to find a verse that directly contradicts it, you aren’t going to find anything more than vaguer verses t…[Read more]

I’ve recently heard about how King James put his name in the Bible by naming the book of James when the guy who actually wrote it was named Jacob, among other alterations.
Something like that can also be lost in translation.
There is not an English equivalent to every Greek or Hebrew word, and I think we don’t really try to think a…[Read more]

@trailblazer @thearcaneaxiom @whalekeeper
I definitely agree with Whaley on this one. If you believe scripture is God breathed…if you believe that God is truth, then you either believe that it is ALL truth and not just the parts you want to believe or you deny it entirely.
We can’t just say that the Bible is full of flaws and yet still…[Read more]

@trailblazer Yes, Bryan Davis is amazing!! He’s one of my favorite authors, but my top is N D Wilson. I believe the quote I have on there is from Ashley Stalworth??? But I’d have to check XD I’ve had a similar time with writing, just able to get words on one of my stories while the others are somewhat stuck. We’re super busy and I just tore a…[Read more]

@rae Hiiii girl!! I was curious (and only share if you want to!), have you learned anything new about your great-grandfather that was possibly in the German military during WW2?
OH, and I’ve wanted to tell you…I recently learned that two of my great uncles were both in the US Army during WW2…they died long before I was born tho, but it’s…[Read more]

No worries! I’m glad you here though!
I think this is what most would say yeah.
So here’s my question though, how do you know that scripture is infallible?
For me, I’m not taking the parts I like the best, I think that we need to consider all scriptures as the word of God, but I simply don’t think we can say that…[Read more]

I personally don’t think there’s much to argue over it.
If you believe it, you believe in a so far consistent, well-logicked (lol, is that a word?) philosophy.
If you don’t believe in infallibility, then you’re taking what pieces you want as truth, and essentially creating your own philosophy. After all, there’s no reason to…[Read more]

Anyone want to discuss the idea of infallibility? I’d like to challenge the notion as a whole.

I’m still plotting out, but I think most of the first half will be Kat discovering Chase is the Black Wolf and thenthe second half, her helping him discover what lives in this region of the forest.
Would you want to read this (especially not knowing who Chase is?)

Sebastian
Chase meant to bolt, but the teacher gave an unfazed crook of the brow. With a sweep of the room, he gripped Dante and Seb’s arms with one hand, and Ellie and Eddie’s sweater scruffs in the other.
He nodded at Chase. “In the front, boy. Where I can see ya.”
Chase walked as if blinded…[Read more]

One, that is really cool!
Two, I actually have! I discovered a printed document written by my Great grandfather to my uncle and dad. And it is confirmed that he was a French POW and he was in the army. He mentioned very little about his war life, but the thing was only a couple pages. I have tried to look him up a couple more times online, but all…[Read more]
Oh! I also meant to share this story with you. My Grandma told it to me in one of our many talks, and it has stuck with me forever. I believe it was even the same weekend that we first heard about Great Grandfather helping Jews.

Yesss, it was sooo cool to find out!! I’m planning on requesting military records from the National Archives (I’ve done it once before when researching someone else) at least for one of my Great Uncles.
It is possible (if the wound was actually related to combat and not just a “war story” he told😂) that one of my Great Uncles never received a…[Read more]
Okay, that is triple cool! I hope you can find that out, cuz that would be awesome!!!!
I’ve tried finding German records, but I’ve been able to find anything. I’ve got a feeling they weren’t legit sites either. Plus, the Search Engines get confused with someone name Dr. Hans Eisele when I type in my Great grandfather’s name (Hans Ulrich Eisele)…[Read more]
Yessss, I’m really hoping I can figure it out too!
Yes, that sounds very difficult/frustrating😅 It’s also very difficult because many WW2 German military records have been destroyed, given that Germany was practically in rubbles by the time the war finally ended.
It’s definitely hard to find records like that bc of that.
Given, most high up…[Read more]
It is interesting tho (and many Americans are, but you know XD) that both of us are descended from Germans.
My grandfather (Dad’s side) has something that talks about how his family on his mom’s side came to the USA from Germany in the 1700s before the USA was even founded!
Which is also really cool tbh😂
Another great Uncle of mine was in the Air…[Read more]
I didn’t mean “high up” (my brain💀)…what I meant was most military records were likely held in Berlin.
idk why I added the “high up” part. XD
So, I don’t remember if I told you this or not, but I found my great grandfather’s grave. He’s buried in Hartford, capital of Connecticut.
I also discovered you can request WWII records! I have to fill out some German forms, which is great cuz it looks like I can only fill out the German versions, not the English translations and I haven’t been…[Read more]
