@seekjustice Well, at least it’s only for about a month and a half out of the year, right? 😛
As for there being only eight…I’m pretty sure I know at least a hundred, especially if you count Christmas hymns. 😉
Do you do Santa Claus in your family? We never “believed in” him, but we did pretend and we sing all the Santa Claus songs, too.
Recently I saw a couple hilarious Australian commercials for some grocery store or something which were about how different Australian Christmases are from Christmases in other countries.

December 3, 2018 at 9:49 pm #78301I guess I’m a bit of a Grinch, to be honest 😛 Six weeks is a long time.
No, we don’t really do Santa Claus, though my dad used to have a work party where there’d be a guy dressed up as Santa and he’d give us presents 😀
I’m not entirely sure what constitutes a hilarious Australian commercial, but it sounds fascinating 😛

December 3, 2018 at 10:14 pm #78302I see.
There are a few from the same people. I think the series is titled “The Perfect Aussie Christmas.”
In this one Americans come to Australia, trying to do an American style Christmas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmmxqRwHAfA
In this one an Australian style Christmas is brought to some Scandinavian country: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bey3pNfQdHw
I’m pretty sure there are a few more, but those are the two I saw.

December 3, 2018 at 10:59 pm #78303Hey I’ll be off on break in about half an hour. Not sure if you guys are still around but if you are and still want to chat, let me know soon…
December 4, 2018 at 10:54 pm #78304@seekjustice @valtmy I am here now.

December 6, 2018 at 11:47 pm #78306@seekjustice Here are some lyrics I think you might find amusing.
This is the chorus to a song from WWI that I learned a few years back. Obviously, it was written by an American and shows just how much we tend to think of ourselves. 😛
The Russians were rushin’ the Prussians,
The Prussians were crushin’ the Russians.
The Balkins were balkin’ and Turkey was squawkin’
Rasputin disputin’ and Italy scootin’
The Boches all bulled bolshevikis
The British were skittish at sea.
But the good Lord I’m thankin’ The Yanks started yankin’,
And yanked Kaiser Bill up a tree. Now what do you think of that bit of craziness?

December 9, 2018 at 5:29 pm #78308Hello I have the day off so I’ll be here today. Are you around? I know that it’s still Sunday for the others so you’re probably the only one who might be. 😛
December 9, 2018 at 5:58 pm #78309I’m currently in the throes of washing up (😝 ), but I’m sure I’ll end up back here eventually.

December 9, 2018 at 6:10 pm #78310I would ask how exactly you’re able to come onto the forum while “in the throes of washing up” but considering that I once played the character game with you while soaking in a pool, I guess I’ll refrain.
All right, see you later. 🙂
December 9, 2018 at 6:35 pm #78311Well, the phone screen was spattered with foam once I finished 😛
How’s QoD coming along?

December 9, 2018 at 6:43 pm #78312Can’t wait for Part 3? 😉
I have tidied things up and filled in some of the blanks I had initially left but I think I have to write a few more scenes for Chapter 9.How’s Wattle Fire coming along?
December 9, 2018 at 7:01 pm #78313That’s good news 🙂
I’m currently planning out all the scenes on my corkboard, trying to get something to kind of work.

December 9, 2018 at 7:08 pm #78314I see. What’s the main issue you’re facing on that? The pacing, the logical flow of events, the scene structure…?
I realised that I have jumbled up the sequence of one or two scenes for QOD in Part 2 so the story does not necessarily progress in a linear fashion and am wondering whether I should change that. But that’s an issue for the next draft, I think.
December 9, 2018 at 7:26 pm #78315….All of the above?
Seriously, I feel like it has every problem under the sun.
