@seekjustice What?! You don’t have poison ivy? Forget about the dead-in-ten-seconds snakes and spiders! I’m moving to Australia! 😛
Seriously, though, you don’t have any? What about poison oak?
I’m researching Judas Iscariot and general facts about biblical lifestyle, such as what types of wells they had so I can get a clearer setting.
Why in particular are you researching Marie Antoinette? Just because you like researching queens and princesses and she’s the next on your list? Or is there a more important reason?

July 23, 2018 at 11:41 pm #75489There’s seriously no poison ivy or poison oak, as far as I know. But there’s things like the Stinging Tree, which as you’ve probably astutely observed, stings.
Oh cool! Is it interesting?
I’m doing research on the Revolution to give me some ideas for my third book and since she was a centrpiece of the revolution I was reading up on her. Do you know the poor girl was married when she was fourteen and she was literally married by proxy with her brother standing in for her husband, so she never even met Louis before being married to him?

July 23, 2018 at 11:57 pm #75490@seekjustice Haha, stinging tree: stings. Should that be obvious? 😛
Quite. And disgusting. 😛 I was reading an explanation of how Judas hung himself, then was hanging there dead for several days before the branch probably broke and his bloated body fell down on the rocks and burst open. For someone who hates any form of medical discussion, reading that is a little…unsettling. I mean, I’ve read the verse in the Bible, but the modern explanation of how it happened was a bit worse. The wells research was better, though, and I also was researching where Judas was from, and how fast the average person can walk…
No, I’ve not done much research on Marie Antoinette herself. Though there was a bit about her in one of G.A. Henty’s books, I believe. However, I’ve heard of several proxy marriages from those days. I think I read about a Scottish one, but I’m not sure. It’s been a while since I’ve researched anything prior to the 1900s. 😉

July 24, 2018 at 12:11 am #75491😛 you’d think so.
I remember once having to research the discrepancy between the verses where it talks about him hanging himself and him falling in a field and bursting open, so i had to read all that then. Not the most pleasant of subjects.
The Scottish one could have been Mary Stuart. She was married to the French dauphin when she was very young.
Anyway, I found it quite horrible.

July 24, 2018 at 12:17 am #75492@seekjustice Yeah, pretty awful. I’m also feeling really bad for my little Bathshua right now, since I’m realizing everything she had to go through.
Ah, I think that was the one. I remembered that her name was Mary, but since about 50% of all women seemed to have been named Mary back then, I didn’t think that would be such a great clue to her identity. 😛
Anyway, I’ll be leaving now. Goodnight, and hope to see you tomorrow!

July 24, 2018 at 12:23 am #75493Poor little thing 🙁
Yep, Mary Queen of Scots.
Goodnight!

July 24, 2018 at 10:43 am #75494@Rochellaine Thanks!
It was pretty nice, but yes over time you can get used to changes.
@Seekjustice Indeed they do. *beams*IMMA KAPEEFER! Til we're old and gray!

Hey guys. Just letting you know that I’m on leave today so I’ll be around and trying to get some writing done. 😛
July 24, 2018 at 6:40 pm #75496Hello! I’m not around just yet, but I will be later 🙂

July 24, 2018 at 8:26 pm #75497@valtmy I’m tentatively on. 😉 I have poison ivy on one of my hands, and as a touch typist I can barely endure the achingly slow process of typing with only one hand. 😛 But I am researching now, so I’ll reply as often as possible.
@seekjustice Are you here yet?"Sylvester - Sylvester!"
July 24, 2018 at 9:42 pm #75498I’ve arrived!

July 24, 2018 at 9:50 pm #75499@seekjustice Hi!
Still Marie Antoinette?
I was watching an interview-ish thing with Charles Laughton today and began to wonder what a retelling of the Hunchback of Notre Dame would look like. 😉
How do you like The Hunchback?
"Sylvester - Sylvester!"
July 24, 2018 at 9:55 pm #75500No, actually. I’m reading an article with dubious morality and lack of Biblical basis and making mental responses to it.
Well, I’ve read the Hunchback and seen the movie and listened to the Broadway musical (which is hugely interesting, because it has a deaf actor in it. So I find it fascinating), but I don’t particularly like it. its too dark and hopeless for my taste. in fact, I had a hard time believing that it has the same author as Les Mis!

July 24, 2018 at 9:58 pm #75501@seekjustice @rochellaine ‘Ello! I am editing comments! Maybe only a few days until I shall get to start rewriting! Yay! Then it will be better and I can write the sequel!
