@rochellaine haha, yes I like Kendall too. I wouldn’t say he’s my favorite, but yeah I like him. 😉

www.jennaterese.comJuly 22, 2018 at 10:38 pm #75453@seekjustice Aw, too much like a cowboy? All because of the hat, I’m sure. Try these:
Or Clint Eastwood’s son, Scott Eastwood, with a black leather jacket just like Justice?
Why thank you! But you still aren’t going to use any of them, are you? 😛 Nope, didn’t think so. Maybe I should write an AU and save Zac myself, since you won’t. 😉

July 22, 2018 at 10:41 pm #75456@jenwriter17 Yes! He’s not my favorite either, but @seekjustice actually said “no one likes Kendall,” so I had to protest. I don’t like him best, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t like him at all.
Thank you for your support! 😛
Oh, and have you read any of the second draft yet?

July 22, 2018 at 10:43 pm #75458Yippee!! Third edit and the gif finally worked. 😛

Justice’s jacket is not actually a leather one, just thought I’d point that out. 😀

July 22, 2018 at 10:59 pm #75462My post disappeared. Here it is again:
@seekjustice’s sister You’re breaking my heart! 😛
@seekjustice Is your entire family so prejudiced against my favorite classic shows and movies and musicals and actors and singers and writers??? 😮Hm, that’s interesting. What kind of jacket is it, then? A suit jacket/blazer, or a light coat cut straight with a zipper? I’m pretty confused now, since “black jacket” made me immediately think of a leather jacket, since that’s what most guys seem to wear these days. I would have thought suit jacket, since my brothers and dad wear those every day for work, but very few people wear suit jackets when they’re not actually at work, so I crossed that out.
First you say Justice is short, then you say he doesn’t wear a leather jacket? What other big reveals about him are you going to throw at me? Oh yeah, you said he has a German accent too! Wow. He is not the same character I thought he was when I first read Stars! 😛
(Speaking of German, and you loving the Red Baron – which is totally weird, by the way, just so you know – did you ever hear the Red Baron “song” from the Charlie Brown musical?)

July 22, 2018 at 11:12 pm #75463Sorry 🙁 I honestly don’t think though that she’s ever seen one of those shows which she was talking about, and she didn’t know who Clint Eastwood was. Our family doesn’t watch much in the way of shows or movies, but usually when we do we watch newer things.
The jacket is a very specific type of jacket. Observe this one:
Never mind that the guy looks like he wants to kill someone and that the rest of his outfit is really strange, but that sort of jacket. It’s a jacket inspired by the carmagnole jacket that is the traditional jacket of revolutionaries.
Like I said, very specific. I’m glad I found that picture, because otherwise I would’ve had to try to explain it to you.
Where did that German accent come from? Probably the same place his middle name came from.
No, I haven’t. I’ve always been very indignant about the way Snoopy deals with Manfred von Richthofen.

July 22, 2018 at 11:20 pm #75464@seekjustice Haha, we don’t watch much in the way of movies or shows either, but when we do, it’s usually older stuff. Or documentaries. (Yes, I have actually seen a lot of old movies and shows, but a lot of the ones I talk about are ones that I actually haven’t seen the full version of, like Carousel, which I’ve just seen a lot of clips of, or Camelot, which I’ve only heard a few of the songs from. 😛 ) I just generally feel more comfortable watching older stuff because I’m not so worried I’ll be randomly assaulted with a curse word or indecent scene or remark. Even in the soundtrack of Les Mis I heard several curse words already. 🙁
Ah…interesting. (reworks my brain even more.) That looks hot. Would you be mildly offended if I kept imagining him in a faux leather jacket with a zipper? 😛
Well, he defeats Snoopy in that particular scene, so that should satisfy you. 😉
Now, this isn’t from WWI, but one of my favorite songs from WWII has lyrics like this:
Three Jap planes were up in the sky
Looking for trouble while flying high
Along came a Yank, and what did he do?
A-a-a-a-a-a-a (imitative machine gun sounds)
Then there were two!"Sylvester - Sylvester!"
July 22, 2018 at 11:22 pm #75465@seekjustice Oh my, I did not mean “that looks hot” as in it’s goodlooking. 😛 I meant it looks like it would make the wearer hot and sweaty. 😛 😛 Whew, that was…rather upsetting.
"Sylvester - Sylvester!"
July 22, 2018 at 11:31 pm #75466I tend to be able to deal with curse words, as long as they aren’t too “strong” or too often, so I often forget to mention those (sorry). However, I cannot deal with people kissing each other, as my family will testify, hence my dislike of romance, particularly in movies.
No, I wouldn’t be. I’m sure a leather jacket would be pretty hot, in the literal sense of the term, as well though, wouldn’t it? I don’t know, I’ve never worn a leather jacket.
😀
I was wondering about that. It didn’t sound particularly “Rochellaine” to me, so I was wondering if someone had hacked your account 😛 😉

July 22, 2018 at 11:50 pm #75467@seekjustice That depends on the jacket. (I have a light leather coat that is not hot at all, but my mom has a fleece-lined leather coat that is extremely heavy and hot.) I think leather lined with fleece is the reason you would usually think of leather jackets as hot, such as an aviator jacket. A jacket that is just thin, cured leather would probably not be very hot, and Chessy does comment on how Justice wears his jacket even when it’s hot, which she counts as strange, so I didn’t think of it as a specifically summer piece of clothing.
Anyway, I think you were saying that your jacket is associated with revolutionaries from the 1800s, right? So, basically, since I was viewing your book from a completely modern standpoint, the leather, straight cut, zippered jacket was what I pictured as a modern take on a rebel.
Haha. 😛

July 22, 2018 at 11:56 pm #75468Ah, true. Being in love with the aviators as I am, I always imagine leather aviator jackets, which were, of course, made to keep you warm.
Its the working class jacket, which is why its associated with the French Revolution. Actually though, my sister also thought Justice wore a leather jacket too, so you aren’t the only one. I can imagine Zac wearing a leather jacket, having thought about it.
INFP Queen of the Kingdom commander of an army of origami cranes and a sabre from Babylon.
July 23, 2018 at 12:03 am #75469@seekjustice And I don’t imagine Zac wearing a leather jacket. 😛 I don’t think I’ve ever thought of what Zac would wear, actually. Let me see, I think it would possibly be a slim cut t-shirt tucked into dark jeans or khakis with an open, untucked button-down which he takes off and on when he gets hot or cool. Since he’s rich but partially lazy I’d imagine him wearing something classy/casual like that.
I thought of a plot twist, then looked it up to see if it was actually in ATOTC or not, and now I’m confused. 😛
So, I was thinking, I have absolutely no idea why they let Justice’s servant go after they captured Justice. At that point Justice had no bargaining power, since he was already in their hands. So I thought, maybe she let the servant go because that’s what happened in ATOTC, but I can’t figure out what happened to the original servant at all!
"Sylvester - Sylvester!"
July 23, 2018 at 12:28 am #75470I imagine Zac wearing a very typical Australian outfit–a chequered Drizabone shirt, or something similar, jeans and riding boots. So probably not all that different from what you’re imagining.
In the book, the servant is let go, in all of the adaptions that I’ve seen, he’s been killed. Did that have anything to do with your plot twist?
INFP Queen of the Kingdom commander of an army of origami cranes and a sabre from Babylon.
July 23, 2018 at 12:33 am #75471@seekjustice Okay, cool. At least there’s one thing I imagined correctly! 😛 Part of the problem is probably that I’ve never been to Australia, so I’m probably imagining the setting completely wrong, and that carries to the characters.
Well, like I said, I thought it was pretty strange that they let the servant go after Justice was already in their power. At that point they had no reason to let the servant go, and they still did want to punish him for his “crimes” so I thought it would make much more sense if they kept the servant anyway, after their promise to Justice.
I haven’t thought much farther than that, but I guess that’s actually more of an editing thing than a plot twist, since there’s no standard for how the servant is treated.
