              Look me in the eyes and tell me that you don’t 😛

              Are you around this afternoon/evening? I feel like maybe you disintegrated or something.

                *laughs* True. I like free books.
                *deadpans* But I can’t look you in the eyes either way because you are on the other side of the world.

                Good night. Maybe I’ll get on here early tomorrow morning… Start a good habit.

                I made some progress tonight. Rediscovered this character, Connor, I made for the original story that was VERY different. Judging by the fact my MC is friends with wolves, his name means “wolf or dog lover”, that the I was horrible at writing guys, and didn’t like romance. He maybe sort of liked her. But she didn’t like him… And he would probably gotten killed or nearly killed if I ever progressed that far on the original idea. o.0 (He was one of the competitors for the Animal Olympics, which is nothing like the plot now.) (It’s not like I don’t like romance at all it’s just I don’t really care for writing or reading it a lot. Sometimes I like. But I steer clear because of YA.)

                  @catwing Very true. But still, who says no to free books?

                  Goodnight! Oh yes, I feel a bit the same about romance. 😀

                    @catwing I know you’ve read the Love Comes Softly series, though.  Isn’t my memory good? 😛  So, that should prove you don’t dislike romance too much.  But that’s what you said anyway. 😉

                    @seekjustice
                    Don’t worry, I haven’t disintegrated.  I’m busy right now, though.  Might be around in an hour or so, or might go to sleep.  I’ll let you know if I come around tonight.

                    Have you read Janette Oke?

                      Ah, that’s a relief!

                      Do you think I’ve read Janette Oke? Me, who rather….dislikes, shall we say, romance? No, I haven’t 😛

                        @seekjustice Hey, I’m here for a few minutes.

                        Well…Janette Oke’s books are not “mushy”.  They’re more family books, with the romance there just as part of the life story.  Especially in the Love Comes Softly series.  I think probably half of her books start with the couple already married, and a lot of them are more about siblings caring for each other than the romantic couples.  So they aren’t so bad. 😉

                        @catwing
                        may be able to back me up on this. 😛

                          Well, I’ve never dared them, partly because they’re the Christian staples and I don’t want to offend anyone by saying I didn’t like them 😛

                          How’s things?

                            @seekjustice They’re probably the least romance-y of any romance novels you could ever read.  Like I said, they’re more about families than romance, usually.  Or at least half and half.

                            You could always try one of her stand alone novels, and then if you didn’t like it you could get out of awkward conversations by just saying, “I probably read the one that wasn’t as good as the rest of her books.” 😉

                            Speaking of awkward conversations…today I got into one. 😛  A nice lady who is visiting us asked me what my plans were, and I told her that I wanted to marry and be a good wife and mother.  Usually when I say I want to get married, rather than be a career woman, people just nod and say something like, “sweet,” or “that’s interesting,” or “I agree.” (or disagree, but the conversation is never long)  But she decided to give me a long quiz on what qualities I wanted in a husband so that she could apparently pray for a specific husband for me… 😮

                            Yeah, that was awkward. 😛

                            Things are pretty good, though.  How about you?  Did you get a chance to listen to that song?  I can barely even recall recommending it.  It was something by Howard Keel, wasn’t it?

                              If I come across one, I’ll attempt it 😛 the style is still not my cup of tea though 😀

                              Well, that is a sliiightly awkward conversation. I’m curious as to the list of qualities you gave her? 😛

                              I did and it was Gesticulate from Kismet. It was pretty funny 🙂

                                @seekjustice Yeah, yeah.  You who wrote the books containing the two most talked-of couples on this forum… 😛  And two love triangles – if you count that awful way you changed Rain in the second draft of Stars. (yup, still complaining about that. 😉 )

                                Haha, since I wasn’t comfortable talking about specific things with her, (I don’t know her very well) I basically just said “he’s got to be a Christian, of course.”  She didn’t accept that answer, saying that was just an obvious answer and she “needed something specific to pray for…” *covers face* 😛  Anyway, finally I gave in, partially, and said it would be nice if he enjoyed singing, and was able to sing in tune.  But that’s all I was willing to say. 😛

                                Oh yeah.  Well, I’m glad you didn’t dislike it. 😉  Even though you sometimes have a hard time listening to/watching the old stuff, you could just consider it part of your historical education, right?

                                  @rochellaine

                                  Well, its hardly my fault that you people like talking about them so much. Still, my novel hardly falls into “romantic fiction”.

                                  😛 I’m literally sniggering. If I was ever to get married, I would love to marry a guy who could sing, just so I don’t have to sing both parts of a romantic duet anymore. That would be great 🙂

                                  I’ve had to do many unpleasant things in the name of research (thankfully, listening to musicals doesn’t usually fall into the category of unpleasant). Listening to Kismet wasn’t necessarily my favourite thing, but it definitely wasn’t unpleasant or boring 😀
