And *poof*! My post has vanished. I’m not sure whether you got it or not, but I’ll try again.
(By the way, I sounded a bit selfish in that last post, if you read it. I’m sorry and I don’t mean to sound like I was only telling you about my project because I wanted help on it. I love talking with you about my writing–and your writing too. Though I am keen for your thoughts)
Now, let me try posting again:
“A queen? You call yourself a queen? A real queen would at least speak the language of her people.”
Yilla has done more than her fair share for the war effort. Ever since the Everundians began campaigning for independence, Yilla’s family has been sending their bravest sons to quell the unrest, and Yilla has been doing her part by rounding up the wild horses that roam the mountain ranges and sending them after her brothers.
Married at fourteen, High-Praise Carray has now ascended to the throne of her adopted country alongside her husband—the shy and meek Courageous. But the young queen has never known anything except luxury and she spends her days wallowing in boredom and frivolous pleasures. Pleasures that are slowly aiding the war in sending the monarchy bankrupt.
Yilla’s life is changed forever when an assassin makes an attempt on the life of the queen. Accused of disconnect with her people, High-Praise orders that a young girl be brought as her companion, in order to teach her the ways of the people.
Suddenly pulled from her hard life at the feet of the mountains and thrown into the lap of luxury, Yilla finds herself lost and alone, expected to guide the queen through a maze she knows nothing about—and the war for independence is being brought to the door of the palace.

August 1, 2018 at 6:36 pm #75858August 1, 2018 at 6:39 pm #75859@seekjustice That sounds interesting! 🙂 I don’t have any suggestions, but yet I don’t know much about writing blurbs.
(I saw your post in my email; you didn’t come across as selfish to me. We’re here to help each other. 😉 )

www.jennaterese.comAugust 1, 2018 at 6:47 pm #75860Me neither, maybe I’ll have to hunt down a few blog posts on writing blurbs.
(I’m glad. I know I worry a lot about upsetting people, but I can’t help it)

August 1, 2018 at 6:49 pm #75861@seekjustice well, if you find any good ones, let us know. 😉
I have to leave now. Happy writing! (I probably won’t be on much the next couple weeks, but I’ll be blogging).

"Sylvester - Sylvester!"
August 1, 2018 at 8:34 pm #75863@seekjustice The blurb sounds quite interesting! (I agree with @jenwriter17, that you didn’t sound at all selfish in the original post.)
I did have to read the blurb a couple of times to figure out what was going on, as I was mixing up Yilla and the queen, but I think that might have just been that I was doing other things at the same time, so my focus wasn’t there the first couple times I tried to read it. When I actually read it straight through, reading the entire thing rather than skimming it, I understood it.
Is anyone still here?

August 1, 2018 at 8:44 pm #75864@rochellaine Did you have a good time?
Okay. Well, I’m attempting a few different versions, I’ll ask your opinion on them when I’m done.
I’m going to disappear for half an hour to an hour and then I’ll be back.

August 1, 2018 at 8:48 pm #75865@seekjustice Yes, we had a good time. The sermon was nice. It was about going to a secret place with God, and just talking with Him, without other distractions. I certainly don’t do that enough!
Okay, sounds great. 🙂
So am I, actually, since it’s time for dinner. 😛 See you later!

By the way, remember how I was bragging the other day about how few parent characters I killed? I just realised that I’m not doing as well as I thought I was because Sapphire was also a mother. And I killed her on screen, so to speak. I can’t get away with the “but she was dead beforehand” like I do with Zac’s father and Chessy’s mother. And she was also a main character.
🙁
