www.jennaterese.comAugust 1, 2018 at 12:35 pm #75841@jenwriter17 Yeah, no, I wouldn’t have gotten more than a few pages into it by now, probably.Β I do most of my reading in the evening.
Remember, she made my Jonas scene canon! πΒ Of course she changed it quite a bit so it would fit in with the story correctly, but Jonas does visit Chessy in jail! π π

I’ve been researching lately about how to improve my singing voice. I don’t perform or anything (NOR DO I INTEND AT ANY POINT IN MY LIFE…ahem), but I thought I’d ask you if you had any tips about singing.

www.jennaterese.comAugust 1, 2018 at 1:04 pm #75843@jenwriter17 You don’t even know what my voice sounds like! π
Um, let’s see…
Well, I would say sing all the time.Β Around the house, while doing your work, while driving, whatever.Β Practice does make perfect, and your voice will get stronger with use.Β You probably already do this, though. π
The one thing that really bugs me about modern singing expectations is that everyone puts too much emphasis on a huge range.Β I think simple and sweet, where there is no strain and the voice can be beautiful, is much nicer than huge ranges where the high notes are forced screaming, and the low notes sound like a breathy growl.Β I love singing very high, because it’s fun and exciting, but usually sing in my middle range, just to relax and keep my voice healthy.Β Relaxation is important for singing high notes too, though, as if you sing them with a strain, it will hurt your voice.
What range are you, by the way?Β I know SeekJustice has a lower range, but I don’t remember if I’ve asked you.

August 1, 2018 at 1:12 pm #75844@rochellaine No, but I’d love to hear it one day! π
Yes, I do sing around the house a lot. I had actually just heard something about relaxing helping with higher notes; thank you for the reminder. π And I so know what you mean by the high screaming thing people do! I don’t like it either.
I don’t know what my exact range is, but it’s probably more on the deeper side because I don’t sing the high ones very well.

www.jennaterese.comAugust 1, 2018 at 1:20 pm #75845@jenwriter17 Not being able to sing high notes could just mean you need practice. π
Okay, well, I’ve got to go now.Β I’ll probably be on for a bit tonight.Β Bye!

I actually have to go too. Bye!

www.jennaterese.comAugust 1, 2018 at 5:06 pm #75847@rochellaine @jenwriter17 Seeing as that was 1:30 in the morning…no. I neither get up nor stay up that early!
Speaking of singing all the time, I’ve had a cold lately and now my voice is just gone which is making my habitual singing very difficult. It’s driving me crazy! especially the fact that I usually have a very deep, powerful sort of voice and now all I can do is squeak until my voice cracks π
Rochellaine, you around? I’m working on some blogging.

August 1, 2018 at 5:32 pm #75848@seekjustice Oh colds are so annoying to us musically inclined humans! π it takes the pleasure right out of singing…
I think I can be around for a bit. π

August 1, 2018 at 6:09 pm #75852@seekjustice I’m only a couple pages in, but I’m liking it so far. π
Blurbs are hard, aren’t they?

August 1, 2018 at 6:19 pm #75854@seekjustice That is the absolute WORST thing about being sick!!!Β I always say so.Β I don’t mind the feeling of being sick half as much as the feeling of being strangled and incapable of song.Β How can you properly express feelings without music?Β Words alone just don’t carry it. π
Hope you get better soon!
A new project??Β Is it a secret?Β When will you tell us about it?
