@seekjustice Oh yeah! Part 2! I can’t wait!! 😀
I do like writing short stories. Sometime they tend to get a little long because I just keep going. One short story ended up being around 18,000 words long. If I wasn’t on a deadline for that one, I could have easily turned it into a full length novel.
I used to write them all the time, but certain things happened and I’ve been trying to focus on my novel.
I do have a different short story in the mind that I also want to do. It’ll be a little different than what I’ve done before.
"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
April 14, 2018 at 12:06 am #70844@seekjustice That was not fifteen minutes. That was an hour. 😛 Looks like I’m bad at giving estimates!
But anyway, I’m here now, and it looks like you’re about to leave. 🙁 By the way, I did give you the comment about Justice, but I put it in your document instead of here. Did you get it?
@skredder Hi!"Sylvester - Sylvester!"
April 14, 2018 at 12:09 am #70845@rochellaine Heyo! 🙂
"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
April 14, 2018 at 12:24 am #70846I’m going to post it once I’ve eaten lunch 🙂
I often work on short stories between working on novels, I find it lots of fun trying to condense a story into so few words (most of my short stories are under 2000 words)
They’re great for experimenting too!
Yep I got your comment. I’ll have to reread the section though. I think I was imagining he was saying it in a more frustrated sarcastic sort of way though. Because surely he isn’t so deluded as to believe that he is actually being romantic?

April 14, 2018 at 12:24 am #70847@skredder Short stories, huh? I love writing short stories! Except…I rarely finish them. 😛 I’ve finished a couple though. How’s it going now?
"Sylvester - Sylvester!"
April 14, 2018 at 12:28 am #70848@seekjustice Well, I can understand that, but it still implies that he was trying to be romantic, while the rest of the scene (as well as what we know of his character) really doesn’t indicate that at all. The first time he says “romantic” it’s a joke, and a little flirtatious, which is fine, but the second time it just sounds really weird. 🙁 Sorry.
Sure! Read it again and then argue with me in the comments! 😀 Just like we did in my story, which I am now rewriting.
And which I will be requesting your reviews of as soon as I finish the updates!

April 14, 2018 at 12:28 am #70849@rochellaine Better than it has, not as good as it could be. There’s probably only about 500 words or so left. I still need a title for it though. Hmm.
Are you still rewriting?

April 14, 2018 at 12:32 am #70850Better than it has, not as good as it could be.
That describes a large amount of nearly everything I do… 😀
Yup! Almost done, though. Hooray!

April 14, 2018 at 12:34 am #70851Okay, I can see that. We don’t have to argue about it 😛 You’re probably right, so I’ll have a look at it and work out how to change it. After all, it’s only one sentence, not a whole chapter thing 😀

April 14, 2018 at 12:35 am #70852@rochellaine Wahoo! You’re almost there.
I’ve got to kill this guy and then I can end it pretty quickly. My sore hand isn’t helping matters.

April 14, 2018 at 12:50 am #70853@seekjustice What do you do for second degree burns? I just tried to google it, and then backed out of a website instead of reading it because I was afraid there would be pictures of the burns there… 😛 I mean, I know generally what you do for burns, but I want to know if there’s any specific treatment that a paramedic or EMT would give on the scene?
@skredder You’re going to what?! Another person who kills characters? I’ve got to get out of here. This place is too dangerous for my precious characters!(In case you haven’t heard, my characters have been chased by wolves, shot at, swam with alligators, fallen off cliffs, and executed by a firing squad…and always do they come out alive. I don’t know how they do it, but I suppose I have the strange and unusual inability to kill any characters whatsoever.)

April 14, 2018 at 12:54 am #70854@rochellaine I know someone else who kills their characters and nearly always brings them back.
Your characters either love you…or have a very strong dislike for you. 🙂
Oh, and this is the second person I’m killing in this short story. There is a purpose for it, I promise.
"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
April 14, 2018 at 1:14 am #70855Second degree burns. Fun 😉
Do not apply lotions, ointment or fats to the burn for starters, just so we have that out of the way.
Do not remove any clothing or jewellery stuck to the burn either.
Holding a burn under running water is the best way to treat it. If there isn’t any running water, pouring water over the wound will do.
Cover it with a nonfluffy dressing (cling film is suggested in my handbook)
Treat the patient for shock if they go into shock.
Seek medical aid. I’m not sure what a paramedic in particular would do, but it would probably be something similar, since they aren’t near are a hospital at the moment, are they?

April 14, 2018 at 11:53 am #70861@rochellaine Oh! So my director adapted the story of Cinderella for the stage (she wrote the script) and she also wrote the songs since it’s a musical. There were a few changes made to the story like Ella’s dead mother comes back and transforms her dress, instead of a fairy-godmother. Things like that. 🙂 😉
