okay cool!!
so in my novel I have this people group called the Silyans; they are all beautiful maidens, and they are immortal… UNLESS they marry or bind themselves in friendship with a mortal, and then when that spouse or friend dies, they die with them, no matter where they are.
They also have power over gems and precious metals, etc. so they are very valuable in the rare case they do leave their valley.
They also tend to be very naive and sweet, and trusting. Once they decide they are binding to a mortal, they do not leave them, even if they turn evil. Which can be bad, because an endless source of gold and silver and metal is, um, not good when you have thousands of goblins to arm and set loose on the unsuspecting peoples of Visaya…
also @joelle-stoneย Gildor Inglorion is from LoTR is he not? I recognize the name… And love the quote!!

May 12, 2021 at 8:43 pm #99608@elfwing Whoa, that sounds amazing! Reminds me vaguely of this movie I once watched calledย Maquia…
Is your main character part of the Silyans?
Lately, it's been on my brain
Would you mind letting me know
If hours don't turn into daysMay 12, 2021 at 8:48 pm #99612ok cool!
yes… she’s part Silyan, and then she has Brennavaian, Elphin, Star-Eye, Phelanian, Bardan and Peluvaro in her bloodline too.ย she’s 5’4″, ash-blonde hair and eyes that shift colors and is a little tigress when you make her mad, which is a bad idea, since she has Bardan (griffin morpher) in her, and Peluvaro (owl morpher) and these two kindreds clash, so she just morphs huge wings and her arms scale over to the elbow lol. Oh, and her eyes can glow XD

May 18, 2021 at 4:54 pm #99824(BTW, awesome username, and I ADORE your quote!) Sorry for not getting back to you earlier! Life is hectic. ๐ Yep, he’s from LOTR (and Gildor is also the name of my betta)! He’s one of my favorite Elves – I wish they’d put him in the films.

May 18, 2021 at 5:22 pm #99825thanks! oh, by the way, I love your profile picture!!
The quote is from Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron one of my favorite movies.
Yeah, life is crazy here too, we happen to be moving halfway across Canada, from Alberta to Nova Scotia. XD
Yes! I wish they would have put Gildor in there; he’s so cool, and instead, they have Lindir, who’s not nearly as epic. I’m a booklover and Tolkien is my favorite author!
@devestate-lasting
I realize I didn’t finish my explanation, sorry my computer was being rude that day XD
the main character is Silyan, but also the others I mentioned;
Bardans: people who can morph into griffons.
Peluvaro: owl morphers
Brennavaian; power over plant growth/movement (Elphins are a sect of the Brennavaians who are ‘fire proof’ as well as skilled healers.)
Star–Eye: people with the ability to harness and use star energy
Phelanian: immortal people who have a “randomly shuffled” mix of all powers of the Pakamava of which the ones before listed are a few., they either have one, or two with one predominant
wow… typing them out makes them sound weird lol

May 18, 2021 at 6:18 pm #99837Thanks, but I can’t take credit – ’twas a photo I dug up online. XD It is a reflection of my WIP. *glares at slowly-moving WIP*
Ooh, I haven’t seen that movie in ages!! My siblings and I used to act it out all the time. ๐
Wow, really? My aunt lives in Canada – she loves it. ๐ Does this mean you speak French?
Lindir? I don’t remember him. :/ Are you learning to/do you speak and/or write any of Tolkien’s languages? He’s my favorite author too (although Andrew Peterson cuts a close second)! I, too, am a booklover. *glances at new books from library on my shelf*

May 18, 2021 at 7:03 pm #99840cool cool! okay! I still like it though ๐
lol that must’ve been fun! It’s an epic movie.
No, actually, I don’t speak french. Though it is a beautiful sounding language. It’s more Ontario and Quebec that speak french, not so much the prairie provinces. I am learning Dutch, though!
Oh, sorry Lindir is in the movie, he’s the guy who says ‘lady Arwen, we cannot delay” right before she gallops off on her horse. he’s also in the Hobbit movie and greets the dwarves when they come to Rivendell.
I have not yet learned any Tolkien languages. but I want to! I have the dwarf runes copied down somewhere, and also the elvish, and have attempted to write with them, but I always forget.
haha, I have a small selection of books, to be honest. but I am working on expanding my knowledge. XD

May 18, 2021 at 7:12 pm #99841Ah, I think my aunt lives in Quebec. Dutch is cool!
Ohhhhhhh,ย thatย dude! Yeah, now I know who you’re talking about. And here I was thinking they put Elrohir in for a bit. XD
Oh, cool! I’m attempting to learn Sindarin, although I hope to eventually learn Tengwar too. ๐
Hey, you gotta start somewhere. ๐

May 18, 2021 at 7:27 pm #99842Oh, nice! I have never been to Quebec before, but we will be traveling through it briefly on our way to NS
Yes, I have dutch relatives, and I would like to visit Holland one day.
Yeah, I think they have Elrohir and Elladan in the movie when Aragorn and Arwen meet again; they’re standing by Elrond, I think they are the two blond-hair elvish dudes
Sindarin!!!! oh man, that’s awesome!!!
Yep, that’s true, at least I like reading and have books. lol.
History is a great inspiration for writing, and so is Tolkien, but I sure need to expand to more books beyond Tolkien and history XD
Thanks for the welcome! ๐

May 18, 2021 at 9:18 pm #99848@elfwing Those sound awesome! Do you have a favorite?
Lately, it's been on my brain
Would you mind letting me know
If hours don't turn into daysMay 18, 2021 at 11:50 pm #99855Well… I’m partial to the Bardans and the Star-Eyes because of their powers, but the Peluvaro kindred has got to be my favorite.
They’re short; the average is 4’9″ ish, tough people; dark skin, black curly hair, chocolate/silver eyes, they’re very sarcastic and blunt, but have big hearts and would give you the shirt off their back if you needed it. They’re also stubborn and hard-to-kill XD

I have several more Pakamava, but I’m still working out the details of those kindreds…
oh, also, random, but I love pulling things from IRL to add to my books, like, there’s a herb called comfrey that works to help mend broken bones and also reduce swelling, and I use it in my story…
there are other things, but it escapes my mind just now lol
