So….
Past few days I haven’t been in much of a writing mood, or at least making myself write lol. But because I was ahead I could take a few days off.
HOWEVER
The night before yesterday I found that my computer screen has glitches so we’re gonna send it in to get it fixed
(THE LORD BLESSED US BECAUSE IT US GONNA BE FREE TO FIX!! If she hadn’t called today it wouldn’t be!!)
But this means I’m gonna wait to write again till I get it back. Which means like 2 weeks (hopefully less) so I will inevitably get behind.
Anyway, I said all this to ask, have any of you ever gotten behind? Wether by a lot or by a little and how did u deal with it? How did u catch up and keep yourself from feeling motivated and a bit sad/discouraged?
Any tips will be appreciated 😊 thx!

I have gotten behind SO many times! Often the best thing to do is pray about it and see what God’s will for your writing is. If you really feel a burning passion for your project, you’ll hold up strong enough to keep going. But this is something I still struggle with ALL the time, so I totally feel ya!
January 27, 2021 at 6:05 pm #90608Aww, that’s sad but it’s good that it’s gonna be free to fix. WHOP!!!!
Anyway, I totally feel ya dilemma!! But I know you can still make it to your goal!!!!! I totally believe in you!!!! *gives you motivational chocolate* Anyway, I TOTALLY get behind ALL. THE. TIME! In fact, I had planned to make it to the end of my first draft for my new WIP by the end of this month and I just hit the halfway mark soooo that’s definitely not happening. First, I talk to some super motivating friends I have. I’ve got one gal who I’ll literally lay out all my problems and she just gives me sooo much support and motivation!! Another thing I do is remind myself that it’s okay if I don’t make my goal. If I need to reset or readjust my goal there is nothing wrong with that! But I’m still gonna try to either make the goal or at least come as close as possible. So, though, I’m not gonna be able to get the first draft of Heir to His Crown completed by the end of this month
which is less than a week away, guys. HELP ME!I’m gonna try to end this month out strong!!! I’ve been writing on KP with some other gals which is helping me stay motivated and on track. Sometimes I get accountability partners who will help me stay on track. Like if I say I’m gonna write 1,000 words by the end of the day, they’re not gonna stop pestering me until I do, so I end up having no choice. XD That’s just some things I do!!!! I hope this might help a bit!!!! <33 I’m totally cheering you on all the way!!!!!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!! <33God gives His hardest battles to His strongest soldiers.
TeenWritersNook.comJanuary 27, 2021 at 6:52 pm #90642@godlyfantasy12 I always fall behind! Last week I wasn’t in a writing mood at all so I didn’t keep up with my schedule of five pages. So this week I just did the math and now I’m gonna write eight pages a day until the end of January. It’s hard, but I usually make it.
Lately, it's been on my brain
Would you mind letting me know
If hours don't turn into daysJanuary 27, 2021 at 10:45 pm #90754Hey y’all! Gonna tag some peeps!
@gracie-j @devastate-lasting @joy-caroline @issawriter7 @abigail-m @e-k-seaver
This may sound crazy but….tomorrow I am going to attempt a 5,000 word challenge!! So it’s pretty much where u try to write 5,000 words in one day!
I’m gonna wake up earlier (hopefully lol) and at least try to accomplish the goal.
(No one has to join me but I was gonna let y’all know, so I can maybe at least have some writing buddies sometime tomorrow XD and get some encouragement, etc.)
This will do multiple things for me I hope:
1. Get me a bit more ahead, where I can not write next week because I’m going to do a consecration next week.
2. Make me feel good and accomplished because it will up my word count to 15,000 or more, which will give me a wonderful start for February.
3. It will prove I can do it, or at least reach a few thousand, so then I’ll know I can do this on some days!
SO YA! lol

#ProtectSebJanuary 27, 2021 at 11:03 pm #90759I have fallen behind so many times myself. From a day to whole months. So I definitely know what it’s like. The only advice I have is to read as much as possible and to keep a Writers Journal. (Which is basically like a regular journal, but I like the sound of it better XD ). And in it, just jot down anything that has the smallest glimpse of useability in a story, because you never know what you will use.
If 50k is possible in one month, you can definitely do 80k in four months.

I wish you the best of writerly wishes!
January 27, 2021 at 11:19 pm #90760I feel terrible, but I probably won’t be able to make the 5,000-word challenge :,( I usually have to write later at night, but it sounds like a lot of fun! I did it often during NaNoWriMo, because I’d often fall behind a day or two and would have to catch up. And (not that you have to pay attention to it) I have two tips for that. 1# is to cut off all distractions and promise yourself not to leave the keyboard until you finish. 2# is to not worry about the grammar, that’s what second drafts are for. And ok, three tips. 3# is to not check your word count too often. It’s much more fun to see your progress, the longer you wait to see it:)
I wish you the very best of luck! I know you can do it! 😀
