#ProtectSebJanuary 18, 2021 at 12:37 pm #89332I am!!! Are you working on that story w/ Arabella and November? (sry forgot the title 😬) How far are you into it?
I have a question: do you find it easier to work on one WIP or two or more? like, when you get tired of one, you can switch to another one temporarily. or do you make yourself stick with one? i’ve been trying to figure out which one to go with.
And no, i haven’t written anything yet. i’m hoping to tho!!!!!!!!!!!! 😃

-gladiator, 2000January 18, 2021 at 12:37 pm #89333@godlyfantasy12 I’m prepping some things…finishing homework…trying to catch up on my missed writing over the weekend…
Lately, it's been on my brain
Would you mind letting me know
If hours don't turn into daysJanuary 18, 2021 at 1:05 pm #89335@nova21 Yes I am! (And the working title is currently Destiny’s Murder) as for ur question, it kinda depends on ur preference. Maybe try it out? Rn I’m just sticking to this one (except I have a nonfiction help book in mind)

@godlyfantasy12 Well, I’m a wee bit late. I
should beam currently working on a blog post, but I wrote quite a bit last night! Have you gotten anything done?
@nova21 Just thought I’d put my two cents in…I’ve done both, actually, and either one works. Usually, when I’m in the first few chapters of one WIP (as in, the book I’m writing for publication), I’ll hop between that one and another idea. I might get a couple chapters or just an outline done in my second WIP (or, in one case, 27k) before I start working on just the one WIP. Once I finish the first one, I’ll publish it and then repeat the process–work a little on the next book, fiddle with another idea, then stick with one ’til the end.This way, I can get a feel for my book slowly and just ease into it, all while giving myself something to go back and finish in the future. Once I’m a few chapters in and I know what I want for the story, I’ll stick with it until I’m finished. Since I’m working on a series (and have published the first two books), I work with tentative deadlines. (Not something I suggest doing. Write at your own pace. Even self-enforced deadlines are stressful! 😉 )
I guess it all depends on what you can handle and how long you want to spend on one project. If you’d like to get one done, I’d focus on it. If you like to hop around and get a feel for multiple stories, go ahead! I did that for two years (roughly) before I finally found the one idea that just clicked!

I’m hoping to get a lot of writing done today, but unfortunately my AP History is really piling up!😭😂
January 18, 2021 at 2:36 pm #89352Will do!!
@gracie-j
Thanks SO much!! I’ll definitely try it out. 😃 We’ll see how it goes… 😉
(btw, I just noticed–one more post and you’re at 700, lol 😄)

-gladiator, 2000January 18, 2021 at 2:41 pm #89356Hmm… I’ve never heard of One Story, is it a Christian-based magazine? I’ve actually not really looked into publishing-type things, I’m still kind of on the fence about that. Any ideas for starting research on publishing? I’ve read articles from KP and SE but that’s about it.
I don’t know exactly… it can be distracting if there’s something you really want to get done, but I’ve also found it nice as a sort of brain break from whatever I was working on. It’s fun to go and do a little poem or sketch of a character every once in awhile.

January 18, 2021 at 2:41 pm #89357aahh, I had school sadly and missed this. I haven’t gotten to write for the past week and it’s been super depressing. I’m REALLY hoping to get back into my WIP tomorrow. *crossing fingers* Have you gotten to any writing yet?

TeenWritersNook.comJanuary 18, 2021 at 2:43 pm #89358Hmmm… Yeah, I definitely see myself getting VERY distracted, but I think it’s something I need to work on… 😃 I definitely agree with you there!!

-gladiator, 2000January 18, 2021 at 2:45 pm #89359Oooh, if you get to be published in One Story, totally let us know!!!! That’d be really cool!! I submitted to One Teen Story for their past contest but didn’t win!! :,(

TeenWritersNook.comJanuary 18, 2021 at 2:45 pm #89360Not yet, but I was able to do some work on Ice (my short story) on Sunday.
I totally understand not getting around to writing, school can definitely be busy and time-consuming, but technically this is one of the jobs God has given we students to do and is a high priority.

January 18, 2021 at 2:49 pm #89362It would be cool!
(I don’t know if this is where I should put this, but here goes) Out of curiosity, do you think KP would publish a series of short stories?

January 18, 2021 at 2:57 pm #89364@scoutfinch180 Nah, it’s not Christian. It’s a magazine that publishes a single short story every three weeks or so. To be honest I just looked up places to submit short stories and went down the list for the criteria.
@issawriter7 Sure I’ll tell you! I considered One Teen Story, but they aren’t open right now, and I don’t really write about the teenage experience, haha…Lately, it's been on my brain
Would you mind letting me know
If hours don't turn into daysJanuary 18, 2021 at 3:00 pm #89365I’ve never really written about the teenage experience, either, but I might one day…
