@koshka @elishavet-pidyon @anyone
If you could hypothetically ask S. D. Smith a question, what would it be?

April 30, 2025 at 6:09 pm #202258Oh my. Ok. Um…
We know what his favorite cookie is. 🤔
Ack, that’s a good question but my brain is blanking. Something with writing or his time in Africa… Could he beta read my stuff? XD (Just kidding. I know the answer is no. His website says that.)
Maybe which one of his characters is his favorite?
*Wonders if I wasted my hypothetical question* XD

April 30, 2025 at 6:13 pm #202260Why do you ask? (To you, Whaley, not Master Smith)

April 30, 2025 at 6:28 pm #202262Idk. I’ve already had all my questions about GE answered.
Maybe what his first story idea was? Or what were some of the most impacted books for him growing up?
A cup of tea is cheaper than therapy.
May 1, 2025 at 5:11 pm #202285I find it really funny that whenever I want something quick to read, there’s always a new scene posted on here. XD
Hehe I’m glad😂🫶
Bro has a schedule, hehe. Do royal homework, get wife, produce baby.
Indeed. gotta follow all the steps XD
Is this Michael super attached to his late brother to the point where he isn’t practical (and dismisses his responsibilities), or is this council too dismissive of the grieving period? Both?
Probably a mix of both tbh😅
Are you describing Acheron or the man next to him? Either way, I see you’re having fun with the world-building.
The man next to him, I gotta make that more clear tho
and yes, hehe, I am very much having fun
I’m not sure if Michael or Agnar is in the right, here, but that’s probably what you want. A person can linger too much on their grief and avoid other things, but they can also try to move on too quickly.
Yep
Note: When you describe your characters, from what I remember, you usually emphasize the hair and eyes. I liked how you included some clothing description here! Loosen up a little, describe the posture, complexion, noses. (Ah, noses. Where would we be without them?)
(I’m def trying to work on that, heh😅🫶)
✨🎶 penelope, why? you know I'm too shy and terrified ✨🎶
May 2, 2025 at 12:36 pm #202315Thanks! If you have anymore, please throw them at me. I know a family who will get to interview S.D. Smith (one of them will be asking him the questions of course but they’re all fans), and they need ideas. They are huge Green Ember nerds and they know so much about the books that they’ve run out of questions. XD

May 2, 2025 at 1:13 pm #202320That’s awesome! I can sympathize.
Some other question ideas:
Will Snoden and/or Hewson be in this next book?
When did he start writing stories?
What’s one writing habit to avoid?
Does he think his connection to the Zulu tribes inspire anything in Green Ember? If so, what?
Who was Wilfred’s first wife/family he lost?
Will there ever be a story about Wilfred and Smalls in their escapades before Green Ember?
Does Lord Morgan actually have a southern accent? (He does in the audio book, but it’s not clear in the printed book.)
Who was the first character he made up in the stories that started Green Ember?
Will there be more Jack Zulu stories/will we get to see some more of the other worlds?

Hey guys (well you’re mostly gals). Would you be interested in a goal-focused chat where we practice our individual writing skills and chat about our progress? Summer is coming soon and that’s when I have more time to write, but I want to check and see if anyone likes that idea.

May 3, 2025 at 1:20 pm #202368Yes!
I’m working over the summer, but it’s maintenance on a campground, so I expect to have an easier schedule than I now.
