Pardon me for intruding on the conversation, but I just saw this… I saw Bonhoeffer with my brothers a few weeks ago and it was really good! You should see it when you have the chance!
Yes, I do want to see it! Oh, I think I was going to reply again to you concerning your trip, but then it got hidden into history! Sorry about that! I’ll get back to you soon.

December 29, 2024 at 12:54 pm #193135THAT SOUNDS AMAZING!!!!!
I’ll have to check it out! Are they free?
No, you have to buy tickets. However, at the games my family goes to, we volunteer to help and get to go for free. I’m not sure if all the games do that…you’d have to check their website.
How would I go about locating one in my area?
Um, I’d probably just look up “highland games” together with your area.
Oh, is there a lot of drinking and/or immodesty, or are they pretty clean?
From my experience, the games are pretty clean. I’ve never noticed any drinking at a game event, minus if they have some beer stand there. There may be guys with shirts off, but even that I can’t recall much of…if ever.
For my family, we’ve always known the games to be family friendly.
I do a lot of highland dancing, but I’ve never been to something like that!
Wait, you actually do highland dance???!!!!!!!
Woah, that sounds like you look very stark.
Lol. I hope that’s a good thing…..Yes, that’s a good thing! I mean, I meant it in a good way.
My family says I have stark eyebrows since they are very dark and thick, unlike the rest of my family. My oldest and youngest sister got the Scottish looks, my middle sister and brother got the Japanese looks, and I got the Turkish. So, I ended up with the thickest, blackest eyebrows and black hair. I also have café-au-lait on my skin. If you don’t know what that is, it’s basically patches of my skin that are darker than the rest! It’s like someone spilled milk coffee on me, and it stained me forever. It’s become paler as I grow older.
I sometimes joke with my younger sister that if I was a horse, I would be a paint!

December 29, 2024 at 3:44 pm #193145Hey Ellette,
my older sister told me about this video concerning the War of the Rohirrim. According to the commenter, the film was “wasted potential”. Joy, my sister, watched some of his other videos concerning Lotr and said they were really good and true.
So, is this video accurate to the film?
I’m just curious to hear what you have to say about this. Don’t worry, though, I’d still like to watch the film.

It’s all good! I’ve been pretty busy lately and haven’t gotten on here much anyway.

Okay. I’ll have to check it out.

Yes…. and Scotch/Irish folk.
Yes, that’s a good thing! I mean, I meant it in a good way.
okay good!

five minutes into this video is enough to tell me I never want to watch any other video he does. 🙁
I just don’t like his tone and I can’t find any backing for anything that he says.
I’m sorry if that offends you! I don’t mean it in an offensive way.
So far I can’t find any truth in anything he has said.
You may just have to watch the movie for yourself, because I thought there were some pretty amazing characters.
I also know that this movie has had a LOT of hate, and for a lot of different reasons. One hate article written by a trans-gender guy says that the males are too masculine. (I think that’s a good thing to have manly men.) But yeah, even if Hera is not my favorite character, there are still some really great characters in it and it’s a wonderful world/character study. plus, it was accurate to Tolkien’s story, which is what really matters.

Seriously? That’s amazing! My sister Joy has wanted to learn Ceilidh dancing. My siblings and I do know contra dancing.

Huh, really? I think you would greatly enjoy his Faramir one. He points out the great virtues of Faramir (masculine men!) and how (compared to film) he was even more virtuous in the books.

Oh, that’s definitely wrong there. YES! The men characters should be manly.

That’s interesting. I skimmed through the video, and at one point, he was actually showing the part in the books where it talks about the story. And according to what was written there, the film wasn’t accurate.

December 29, 2024 at 4:15 pm #193158Huh. I have her story in one of Tolkien’s journals. It seemed accurate to me!

Yeah, I just don’t like his tone. It puts me off enough that I no longer want to hear what he says. *shrug* maybe that’s just me.

That’s funny! Oh well.

December 29, 2024 at 8:06 pm #193166Since we gave each other our favorite books, how about our favorite movies??? And animals??? And colors??? And Bible verses???
*blink* Um…that’s not too much as ask…is it? I guess I like/want to know you more!

December 30, 2024 at 7:27 am #193171That’s not too much at all! I feel the same!
But hey, we could continue to talk here, or I have your email now and you have mine, so we could email one another and then we could talk about things that neither of us are comfortable posting on the world wide web! 😉
Up to you. It was just a thought.
