Usually no one is on, unfortunately. So today is Bring-your-character-to-work Day. *Plops Seb on the floor* *Pats his head*
Me: “What do you think of this?” *Shows him a specific plot point*
S: “Eh…”
Me: “What’s wrong?”
S: “You don’t know enough about electromagnetic transmitters. But your magic system is extremely complex and depends on much more than this. How do you know you aren’t making ridiculous mistakes? You’ll make me look stupid. I’m only as smart as you.”
Me: “You’ve got a point. But you know I have brain fog. Let’s just save the research for later.”
S: “Okay.” *Mutters under his breath about perfectionists and going down with the ship*

Nonlinear stories are so hard. 🙁 Why am I writing this? My brain is tied into knots right now.
The plan was 10 pages, and I only wrote 4. *Sigh* I feel like the problem with short stories is, I can never fall in love with them unless I get into the nitty-gritty details of a scene, which isn’t great if I want to draft the whole thing in one night. Done for now, will continue.
