ok so “never say never” I guess but I honestly really don’t like the
“Switching places” Trope or whatever it’s called. Like princess and the pauper things like that?
Its just annoying and gets on my nerves. Idk…I just don’t know how someone could do it different enough for me to enjoy (except one movie I watched with it that I did enjoy sorta but I don’t really wanna rewatch all that much)

Yeah, never say never doesn’t sound very good when applied to real life… XD
I’ve never heard of princess and the paupers, so I have no idea what that is!
I think for me it’s missing hiers to the throne, I’ve just read a lot of books like that and it’s starting to feel cheap ig. Like I almost expect it as ‘the big twist’.

So princess and the pauper is basically one the main stories (and it actually might be where the switching places trope was started)
and it’s about a Princess and a Pauper (actually I think it’s a Prince and a Pauper XD, sorry 😂)
Anyway, they meet each other and switch lives because they both look exactly like each other (like twins)
In the end they both have adventures and it comes out that they’ve been switched or yada yada.
So yea the switching places trope is pretty much when two ppl who look alike are dissatisfied with their lives, decide to switch places, they have their adventures in their new reversed lives and sometimes they both either decide it wasn’t what they wanted, OR one decides they don’t wanna go back or something.
it usually ends up being a mess before it’s resolved in the end.
I just don’t care for it cuz it’s just a big mess 🤣

I get you, it can be annoying, there are some that I have really liked though
One of my fave books is Identity by Camille Peters and (as you can easily guess from the title XD) it has that trope, though it’s a retelling of The Goose Girl, it was so cute
Though I can see why the trope is a little over used an sometimes messy XD
