Hello fellow writers! I am a new addition to your cozy little corner of the internet!! I am a fantasy writer, penning stories based on Scripture, full of hope and light. I am attempting to embark on a NaNoWriMo journey, even though NaNo is long gone. Here’s a question: do you all know the highest word count you’ve ever written for a single project?
I am deep in the thick of Preptober, lost in planning and plotting a new novel. What I sincerely hope to be my first novel, project.tnt. Here is a tiny blurb (pardon the rambles, and nothing is set in stone):
The world couldn’t care less what happens to the five Alastair brothers, set apart from the rest with their strange ways and sentient House. When their parents die and leave a temperamental House behind, those five brothers – with the help of a mysterious girl – must find a way to save House… and each other.
I’m so excited to be a member of this community!!

October 12, 2026 at 8:09 pm #213969Hello hello! I’m so glad you’ve gotten on KP at last!
I’m Ellette! I’m an author if fantasy, dystopian, and Historical fiction for middle grade, YA, and adults. I am also the owner of a publishing company, a content editor, and an artist/graphic designer.
my highest word count? Hmm, I don’t tend to track word count…. let me look at one of my recent drafts that was rather long…. I’m not sure of the word count, but it was 701 word doc pages with type set at 12, so whatever that is. XD
That book sounds so interesting! I LOVE brother dynamics and relationships!
What are some of your top favorite fantasy books?
If you could pick to spend a week with one of your characters, who would it be, and why?
If you could be siblings with any book character (not your own books) who would it be and why?
So glad to have you!

October 12, 2026 at 8:17 pm #213972Hi Liska! Welcome to KP! It’s nice to meet you!
I’m Beth! I’m a homeschooled weirdo in high school, and a writer of faith-based fantasy, steampunk, dystopian, and sometimes sci-fi. And I like cats and honeybees, to add a random side note.
Your blurb is intriguing! I’m excited if you decide to share more sometime XD
Here’s a question: do you all know the highest word count you’ve ever written for a single project?
Hm. I’d like to say my highest word count is on my current WIP.
But I don’t actually know the word count, somehow lol.I shall also ask a question – Do you have a favorite character to write about from your story? Or perhaps a character that makes you mad every time you have to write for them?

October 12, 2026 at 9:14 pm #213999You have no idea how excited we’ve been for this day. XD New KPers! Hello, hello!
I am Whaley. Jack-of-all-hobbies-and-interests, master of none. Although I fully intend to become an expert-level thereminist someday. That will definitely happen. (This is definitely not sarcasm.)
I like thrifting for cool knick-knacks, like old newspapers and cameras. I love reading about the nuclear power industry, anything WWII-related, and old fairytales. World-building is my favorite part of writing.
My longest project? Hm… Project Terminus has at least 100K words under its belt. But I cut a ton of it a year or so ago.
A NaNoWriMo-ish goal is awesome. I did not participate in NaNoWriMo when it was still a thing, but I always wanted to. Is your goal somewhere within 50K words in a time limit, or did you tweak the challenge to your liking?
Going off your blurb… does your story have an anthropomorphized house? That’s lovely. Whether or not it is anthropomorphized, I love it when the setting is such an important part of the story.

@ANYONEWHOISTHEKPCOPS!!!!!!
*A set of handcuffs puff into existence* *I brandish them menacingly*
Wait, did Reagan say I’m going to be part of the KP police force? Huh.
Ehhh, I could arrest intruders. But where’s the fun in that? Intruders are much more exciting than people who knock at the door like any common Joe.
