Dante stared at the knife for a long moment, not responding. It stabbed through his coat sleeve, pinning it to the door. Once his heartbeat slowed back down, he let out a deep breath and pulled out the knife.
“Nah, just nicked me,” he said, casually handing it back to Alpha.
He then took off his coat, showing the shallow cut on his arm. He stuck two fingers through the new hole in his sleeve, wiggling them sadly.
“I really liked this coat…”
The cut was starting to bleed a bit, but Dante did nothing to fix it.
“You should be more careful with your little toys there. I think that’s the first time someone’s actually thrown a knife at me by accident.”

Alright, here’s my silly alien guy:
Liko is about 7 feet tall, has blue skin, fluffy green hair, and has 4 arms. He is about college age, but he works as the school’s janitor/ handy man. He also has his pet slime monster thing, Dusty, who’s just following him around right now and helping him hold tools.

While screwing in a new lightbulb in the entrance of the school, Liko couldn’t help eavesdropping on a few student conversations. As he watched atop his ladder, two girls walked in. One greeted the other, but the other girl just strutted off with her nose in the air.
Liko finished with the lightbulb and climbed down. He then stood at the base of the ladder, next to the blue haired girl.
“That wasn’t very nice of her,” he said disapprovingly.

Alpha tossed Dante a handkerchief. “Sorry, I was playing with a new technique. And put pressure on that cut.” Alpha reached out his hand and recalled the knife, which had lost its vapor but still came to his hand. “Sorry about the coat. I can get my little sister to fix it if you would like me to.” Alpha used the same process to enchant the blade with his powers again, commanding it to hover over his shoulder like some strange and dangerous pet. “What have you been up to?”

This hall was getting rather full of too tall people, but this place was probably full of such halls. He sighed. Best to find his way while there was someone of the Big hight on hand to see where they were going.
“Nay, my friend. I must decline your kind offer, although I certainly do appreciate your generosity. There are now three of us whom life has apparently undermeasued. Yet…” He focused on a few droplets of water as they slid across his hand. “I am considering tall for my people, and I am not fully grown if my brother is any indication. He—Oh! pardon my blundering.”
The two girls had stopped before an open door. He hadn’t, nearly colliding with the chirpier one.

So I wanted to show you guys a thing. I’m on page 100 of copying down this entire role play into a google doc, and I’ve been keeping tallies of different tropes/ things that happen a lot and this is it so far:
traumatic flashbacks of course in the lead XD
I just find keeping track of this stuff very entertaining hehe
Also, the word count is currently over 150K and I’m not even a fourth of the way through.
(also, to the people my characters are with rn, I promise I’ll write some rps before tomorrow)

Dante“What have you been up to?”
Dante tied the handkerchief around his arm while considering his answer. He eyed the hovering knife a bit nervously.
“Just getting ready for my trip. Pawned off a few things for cash. Not really sure what to do with the rest of the day.”
He plopped down onto the foot of his bed and rested his elbows on his knees.
“How ‘bout you? Other than using roommates as target practice, that is.”

The TwinsEllie paused in the doorway of the classroom, and looked around, deciding where to sit.
The boy behind Eddie almost bumped into her when she stopped as well.
“Oh! pardon my blundering.”
Ed shrugged. “You’re fine.”
Ellie located some seats near the back and Eddie followed. Once they’d both sat, Ed smiled at the others. “Hey, you guys want to sit with us?”
As they walked over and sat down, she began talking excitedly. “So, I’m Eddie and this is my sister Ellie. You can call me Ed if you want. What are your names? And do you already have dates to the dance?”
Ellie was too preoccupied with her backpack to pay attention to the conversation.
(I kinda just assumed they’d want to sit with the girls, but if not, feel free to change it)
