Lol. I think every author becomes obsessed with their charries at some point or another. 😂😂
Very true XD XD
And I love Ami and Everton!!! And the moodboards are really cool too, I like the colors on Ami’s

"Oh yeah, but none for this"March 28, 2023 at 2:29 pm #138696March 28, 2023 at 2:45 pm #138700Ok here’s the charrie of mine imma post for the day.
Nathaniel O’Dell
Scavenger Pirate, first mate (Scavenger Pirate explanation at the bottom of the post). He has wavy dark brown hair, eager brown eyes, and light freckles. He’s tall and lanky. He has small transparent wings, not big enough for him to fly. Human/fairy halfling.
He comes from Walraven. He has an eager smile and is very friendly. He knows his ships and loves to sail. He’s very sincere and open with his emotions. He lacks in self confidence but encourages others.
Aesthetic:
Wink and a smile
Seagull cries
Bright sun
Ocean horizon
Gentle waves
Crow’s nest with a spyglass
The Scavenger Pirates are a very sorry crew. They’re very small in number, there’s the captain plus three (if you are in need of a job, they will likely take you on. Especially if you can cook). They aren’t very good at what they do, hence being scavengers rather than pillagers. Due to the lack of booty, their ship is constantly falling apart and being fixed with scavenged parts.

@awsumfaith Love Nathaniel!!! ❤️😜
@otherworldlyhistorian Your characters are so interesting!!! 😲😁 And thanks! Hans is certainly one interesting character…in good and bad ways XD
@esther-c I love Ami and Ev!!! ❤️❤️❤️ (okay…okay…especially Ev 😂)Thanks to you too! I’ve seen a few of your characters already as well, but not all of them, your villain really seems interesting, will he ever get a redemption, or is his story to end in tragedy?
Yw!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Ahhh…Hans’ arc ends in tragedy 😢 It was a struggle for me for a long time, not having him be redeemed, but I had to realize/notice that not everyone in the world chooses to be redeemed, and because of the story and his arc, it has to end in his unredeemed death 😭
March 28, 2023 at 7:23 pm #138740Your characters sound so sweet! Love the boards! That gives me a little more context for them in your writing I’ve read so far.
@freedomwriter76
Yeah, I think that’s a good choice. It is the sad truth, but it’s a truth regardless. I think of Azula from Avatar the Last Airbender. We don’t know of any future redemption for her after the show, as she is only 14 at that point and thus has a lot of potential, but by the end of the series at least, her arc ends in a tragedy, but a beautifully done one. Sometimes people will not choose redemption, even when everything else in their life has fallen apart. Writing a character like that could be potentially seen as letting a loved one go places you can’t follow (of course losing characters doesn’t really compare to real loss, but it’s a taste of it.).
He is perfect in Justice, yet He is perfect in Mercy, even when we fail Him. For this, He is good.

@thearcaneaxiomHere is another of my MCs in the first book.
Karci, owns a metalworking shop along with her husband Kien. She resents the Karpentan government for the economic problems facing the country (and herself). She believes that Karpenta needs to be returned to its former glory by ‘returning to Syjism’ and finding strength in their history/traditions instead of trying to become a new Rossian style ‘modern nation’. Karci is very nationalistic and also strongly dislikes the Feyins and/or non-syjists. She also has a strained relationship with her sister Neira Kexin who is extremely intelligent and high up within the Ramis bureaucracy. When Niera unexpectedly requests Karci and Kiens help, Karci begrudgingly agrees (with a lot of prompting from Kien). Yet in agreeing to aid her estranged sister Karci is drug into a conspiracy that she doesn’t fully understand.

I can agree that I feel like it is sometimes best not to redeem characters. I will say that I do think Hans will be a very good villain (and I feel he will probably have a good arc).

@otherworldlyhistorian Ooh, she sounds really interesting too! 😲😎 All of your characters sound sooooo intriguing!!! (and oh…that Hitler quote…never actually heard it before! Was it something he said in a speech or from his Autobiography Mein Kampf? It’s okay if you don’t know, I’m just curious XD I’ve done a bit of research into Hitler’s childhood…I’m starting to think that may have influenced Hans and his backstory, not gonna lie…😅)
And yes, Hans will probably have a good arc, albeit a negative one…
Sometimes people will not choose redemption, even when everything else in their life has fallen apart.
Yep…sadly, but it is true, and that’s how Hans is. I guess he’s also gotten to a point where he doesn’t think he needs a savior, and he certainly doesn’t want one. He actually decides to take himself out rather than be captured by American forces…that’s how his arc ends 😬😢
Writing a character like that could be potentially seen as letting a loved one go places you can’t follow (of course losing characters doesn’t really compare to real loss, but it’s a taste of it.).
That’s a great analogy, actually 😲😉🥰
