I don’t mind if Kari and Ottoline don’t get along at first! A little conflict is good for the story. Kari’s faith is a big part of her life so that sort of seeps out of her, but as a little background she’s had some stuff in her past, too. Not nearly as intense as Ottoline’s, but her father died in an accident when she was four and then less than a year later she witnessed her mother dying in childbirth, so she and her sister were put in foster care for a while and then finally adopted. So she has had a little trauma to deal with, plus the betrayal of her best friend about two years prior to her age now. I think it would work perfectly if Kari somehow opens up about her past and Ottoline sees she’s not really as sheltered as she thinks… Kari just allowed God to heal her heart and that’s what restored that innocence.
Also “Hottoline” made me crack up so much. Maybe I’m just tired but I found it really funny. On that note, I don’t think I have enough energy left to write anything else tonight, but I’ll be back on tomorrow.
