My problem is just with all the fighting scenes….I’m more of a basic romance loving girl, and I just get so lost when there’s so much action!!! If that makes sense. I can try to be better…it’s just so hard for me to love RP’ing when I just get lost, XD

LEFSE FOREVER!!!!!! <333I’m honestly a bit bored of the action scenes too. Sometimes they’re cool, like the fight in the burning palace, and the fights between our characters were fun as well, but this one just feels bland to me. We’ve already explored a lot of the interesting fight possibilities. Next time we do a fight we should at least create an interesting location to do it.
The funnest part of this RP was when our characters were getting to know each other and argued a lot. At this point, they’re all fine with each other and resolved to work together. And a team that works well together is no fun. We could try driving a wedge between some of them, although I can’t think of anything we could use to make them argue, because as I said they are working together now. My best idea is this: physically split the characters up into small groups for a while, and come up with some things that could make them not get along.
This would only be a short term fix though, and we can’t just keep doing this over and over. We should also come up with some non-combat challenges for them on their way, but that still won’t give us any conflict between characters, which is what we really need to make this fun again.🏰 Fantasy Writer

I completely agree…it was so much fun when our characters would argue and then get to know each other!
Well, the quickest way to make them fight is to start DRAMA, which could be anywhere from a love triangle (we’re desperate, okay!?!?!) to accidentally offending someone, to misunderstanding someone, or even accidentally stabbing someone (again, we’re desperate!).

I’VE GOT IT!!! A spy hunt! We add a new villain (and maybe a few non-villains to add confusion) and have the villain join the heroes acting as a spy. The characters find evidence of a spy among them and they have to work out who it is, but they can’t trust anyone! (Except of course the people that they can trust.)

I’m brainstorming while listening to epic music for once, and it’s not Working rn. *Changes music to one of my fav SABATON’s*
Oh, also, I found my sheet about Noranay, so I might change her a little bit, and Nahim’s voice is going to sound like grating or screeching metal for a while.
Nora
- Nora gets impatient with people who don’t put in their best effort.
- Delights in certain types of mischief (I forgot about this)
- It’s hard for her to turn down a challenge to compete, dare, or a “who’s better?” Contest.
- When someone hurts her, she rarely turns the other cheek
She could get mad at Nahim for some reason. Even though they love each other, they still fight sometimes (in one of my books she gets angry that Nahim is going to do something that has a 75% death rate. And that she thinks he’s not ready for. He wasn’t.) She can get heated in fights.
She also can get jealous. I think getting jealous of Ellis or Kate would work best, since I can’t see her getting jealous of anyone else for some reason.
Nahim
- He really dislikes his metal arm
- He really dislikes his replacement voicebox
- He dislikes tech most the time.
- He hates mormakas and oversized spiders (he doesn’t have a fear of them, but Vorgan was a drider)
- Oh! He doesn’t trust anyone who has green eyes that are so dark, they almost look black. He had a childhood Master friend who betrayed him and his family-clan. He has eyes those color, and since he’s Nahim’s worst enemy… Nahim hates him worse than Vorgan.
- He doesn’t like being touched by anyone not Realn, and for Realn, he prefers Helm, Nathelm and Ward. As I said, he’s been betrayed before and since his family is dead because of that…
- He denies his feelings sometimes (as you saw after his duel with Zahlin)
- He actually doesn’t like killing dragons, but will if they are hostile.
- He’s sensitive about the memory of his family.
Okay, brainstorms to make him upset…someone could mention his voice, and he’s just sensitive about it. Someone could poke fun of his arm. The reason I let Rigere stab him, was so that he’d have to submit himself to be healed, which could cause some…problems. If someone indirectly, directly, or accidentally insulted his family, he would really get angry.
I could also pull out the side of Nahim that dearly misses his home and old life still even though it’s been seven years. I’ve been mostly suppressing that side, since I didn’t know if you guys would want him like that. If you do, I just have to think of something to trigger it to come out, a dream (he’s had dreams where his family call to him, and that might be good) or maybe someone insulting,p his family as I said, or mentioning his metal arm.

I think we might also have too many locations/dragons, and if we’re already burning out with the first one, I don’t think we’re gonna get very far. I think part of my problem is that I’m terrible with fighting scenes, and even in the scenes where the characters were fighting each other, Kari wasn’t very involved because she generally gets along with people. I’ve been trying to figure out how to get her more involved but I’m not coming up with very many ideas.
