Yeah, but Ruee had already made up the pronunciation of the name, and decided she didn’t like the extra “y” when she wrote it out. And her spelling happened to be the same as the Arabic one… Fun fact: Nahim’s name used to be something akin to “Larin” back when he was a young charrie in a twelve-year-olds head.

December 11, 2023 at 5:10 pm #169178Actually, I googled Mandin, Nahim’s best friend’s name and got no results.

December 11, 2023 at 5:24 pm #169181“Nay-him” is a perfectly valid pronunciation since you’re not using Arabic linguistics. I agree that the y would look bad.

Hmm… I like my decision too, especially for Jr:
Nayhim Alfred Nayhelm Junior-Alpha Grath

December 11, 2023 at 5:28 pm #169183Though almost everyone pronounces it wrong when they see it spelled 🙄

December 11, 2023 at 5:35 pm #169184Weird. I’ve always pronounced it “Nay-him.” The only problem with that spelling is that it’s a bit inconsistent since you spell Nayhelm with a y. I especially notice it since they’re in the same name, but it’s fine, since it would be a different alphabet anyway. If you spelled it “Nahelm” it would look like it might be pronounced “Nah-helm” or “Na-helm” instead.

📚 Appreciator of BooksDecember 11, 2023 at 5:41 pm #169185The reason his Heritage (that is what a Realn sir name is called) is spelled that way is because it was the name chosen by the first Nayhelm, who took on that name to symbolize him dropping his old life (his story is a salvation story… One that sometimes makes me cry).

I’ve never written something that makes me cry…But then again I don’t usually cry reading anything.

Meanwhile my brother, he only tears up… Come to think of it, last time I saw him tear up, he either had irritated eyes or he got bit by a snake…I’m sure there’s been some other time since he got bit,( he was like, 7 then, and he’ll be sixteen in Feb) but it’s not coming to mind.

@jonas @beth-torres @rae @trailblazer @the-people-i-definitely-forgotLet’s brainstorm chaos.
1st rule of brainstorming: No idea is too dumb to be written down.
2nd rule of brainstorming: Decide on what ideas to do after about 24 hours (you’ve slept on it and have had time to think about it).
Short term:
We could do a coordinated assault by the villains (and I have some villains that would be great with that) during the distraction of the fire
The Forest Dragons (I think of them as Woody Dragons, idk why) could attack, driven by the fire
Witches come out of nowhere and try to do something?
Seriously, though, I can do chaos on-command with whatever
Long term:
Evil people of some sort collecting the stones to use for some evil purpose?
My Droth could come in and totally mess up everyone’s day
Stranded on a boat? Flood? Something like that? (and then there was
FIREFACEconflict)Golden-age detective novel-style “murder” mystery? Like, part of what we’re doing now, but someone dies or something is stolen?
Another attempt on the queen’s life? (I know, not the most original, but rule #1 must be followed)
Crossover with Dark castle (I know the idea sucks like a sewage pump but rule #1 again 🫲🫤🫱)

Brainstorm: A whole bunch of pixies come 😶🫥😶🌫️
December 12, 2023 at 10:36 pm #169423I think I’m gonna have Nahim have one of his nightmares…idk why, I just feel like it. Besides, a warrior yelling and writhing in his sleep is…not normal, and may cause an amount of chaos.
@calyhuge what do you think?"You need French Toast."
December 12, 2023 at 11:18 pm #169432I’ve never written something that makes me cry…But then again I don’t usually cry reading anything.
Well…hehe….I once wrote a dumb story (last spring) about these kids. One of the older brothers got pushed off a water tower (it’s dumb okay???) and I wrote the siblings grieving over him….I actually started tearing up and almost started crying….XD i don’t even know why, because it wasn’t even that good….
I normally cry over romantic scenes (I know, I’m such a typical 14 year old girl lol!) or deaths of beloved animals (especially dogs), or just sad scenes in general.

LEFSE FOREVER!!!!!! <333December 12, 2023 at 11:28 pm #169434Don’t worry, my first draft was very dumb. If you ever want to see what a doodling, cursive-writing twelve-thirteen year old does when they have no idea how to write q book, go look at it.
It’s painful for me to read even the first sentences!
