Kate ran blindly down the hall as the man with flying knives launched after her. It appeared he didn’t like being slammed into the wall.

A knife flew by and grazed her shoulder. She gritted her teeth against the pain and grabbed her Arclash again.

She whipped it at him, slamming him into the wall. The Arclash coiled around him. He grabbed on and pulled. Kate was lifted off the ground. The man launched himself towards her and slammed his feet into her stomach, knocking her back to the ground.

Kate hit the ground hard, shattering a couple of the gemstones under her. The Arcweavings flitted into the air, threatening to disappear, but Kate grabbed hold of them with her mind, and rewove them into a large glowing red sphere.

Then she ran.

There was a thunderous blast and a flash of red light. Kate heard her pursuer shriek as he was knocked away.
