a beef allergy? I’ve never heard of anyone being allergic to meat.

Plus, I had a severe case of Lhymes we didn’t know about till recently, causing the red meat allergy, though after four weeks of Doxycicoline (if spelled correctly) I was able to eat it again 🙂
I love beef too!!! Always have! Just couldn’t eat it for five years…

Okay, what is this conversation????
We went from cats, to cat’s names, to how Jonas is allergic to cats, to when he’s last seen a cat (a year is a really long time!! How have you not seen a cat for a year???), to cashews, to nuts, to crayons, to allergies in general! AND THE SAD PART IS I MISSED IT ALL!!!! NOOOO! Why do you always have all the fun without me???
I literally started laughing at how much you guys jumped around…lol
AnYwAy, in case you are wondering, I have four cats (Poof, Puff, Tiny, and Precious), one annoying and hyper dog, I have like 20 chickens and my dad and sister have fifty more, two ducks, about 70 to 100 cows, and two bratty horses. I have never had rabbits but have considered it. I may or may not get sheep this year for 4H
I am not allergic to anything. I mean, I am, but it doesn’t affect me if I eat it or not.
So that’s me trying to catch up on the conversation, lol
now I’m sad I missed everything! *cries*

LEFSE FOREVER!!!!!! <333November 15, 2023 at 9:50 pm #164726Hello farm girl! Love your kitty names!
100 cows, wow! I actually haven’t been to close to a cow since I was like nine. I’m fourteen.
Oh! For the greater part of my life I was lactose intolerant! Not until the last year or so have I been able to eat cow dairy products more often. Never tasted straight cows milk in my life. Ever tried cheeseless pizza, anyone?

November 15, 2023 at 10:27 pm #164729Aww thanks! So about my cats: here’s a little cat family history, in case anyone’s wondering. (Yep, I’m bringing back the craziness, XD)
Puff’s history:
Long ago, when I was but a young girl of eight years, me and my dear father ventured out into the cold and dark night to collect the chicken’s eggs. My father went inside the chicken house, armed with gloves and a bucket, and I stayed at the edge of the chicken fence. Shining my flashlight out into the darkness of the chicken pen, I was startled to see a small kitten run across the chicken yard, climb the fence and vanish like a wraith into the night. It was an extraordinary event, because we did not own any cats, save for the feral ones that had claimed the bales of hay as their home.
Astounded, I told my father. His reaction was something like this: “You saw a CAT in the chicken yard??????” We discussed the event a bit, and then returned home, putting the incident out of our minds.
Until…I saw the cat again, and again, and again. She seemed to have taken up residence in the chicken coop, sleeping in the nesting boxes, perching on the fence, eating the chicken food, etc. etc. But she was feral and would not allow anyone to come close to her.
But I, a typical adventurous eight year old, decided that I was going to tame her. I, Sara, was going to get my own cat and tame her. So what did I do? I went to Shopko the next time we went into town (yes, then we still had Shopko, lol) and bought the thing that bonds man to any beast: food. I bought her wet cat food, and the next morning, I crawled under the pallets with the cat and tried to coax her into eating the food. She was so deprived of nutrition that she scarfed it down immediately. But she still would not let me touch her.
And so I continued my quest, going to Shopko again and again, purchasing more cat food and feeding her until….ONE DAY….she let me touch her! It was all much easier from there. She bonded with me, and she has loved people ever since. I began calling her “Puffball” and eventually shortened it to “Puff”. And we all lived happily for a time.
Pumpkin
One year had passed, and I began to see an orange tomcat. He was wild, and would not let anyone come within twenty yards of him before turning tail and running like the devil himself was at his heels.
I began seeing him in the barn with Puff.
He eventually disappeared, but we quickly learned that Puff was now pregnant.
We were all excited…that is, everyone except my parents. Of course.
Currently Puff lives in the chicken coop, where she sits on eggs, eats chicken food, talks to the chickens, and sits on the roost. We are pretty sure that she identifies as a chicken, as that is where she has lived all her life.
The Kittens
On December 2nd, 2019, Puff gave birth to four kittens. We were all able to watch her give birth to her kittens, and we even saved two of them from freezing to death in the cold barn, by holding them up to the heater and giving them cat milk replacer. I will never forget the way their little claws stretched out for something to grab, the way their little voices cried out, the way that Puff cared for them.
Poof
Poof is the eldest. He is a black tabby and his hair is soft, silky, and fluffy. He currently resides in our garage, where he wreaks havoc upon our poor dog (yes, the cats often attack our dog just as much as she attacks them), sleeps on top of our cars, grows fat, lazy, and happy.
Caramel
Caramel was the second child, and he was an orange tabby cat. I say “was” because at the ripe age of two years, he passed away due to causes unknown. He is greatly missed.
Tiny
Tiny is the only girl in the batch of kittens, and she is a calico like her mother, Puff. She almost perfectly resembles Puff, and my parents often get them confused. Tiny is both friendly and extremely timid. We aren’t quite sure where she lives on our farm, however, we see her by the feedlot which currently houses almost fifty yearling calves. To amuse themselves, the young cows often chase Tiny across the feedlot, which is extremely amusing to watch.
Precious
Precious is the youngest. He (yes, Precious is a he) is very friendly and social, but would very much like to murder his brother Poof. They would fight to the death if it were not for our dog Willa who acts as referee and policeman. When Willa hears the screams of anger from the feuds, she takes off like a lightning bolt across the farm to break the fight up. Precious has taken up residence in our barn, where he makes Willa angry on purpose, socializes with chickens, and kills innocent creatures such as mice and birds.

LEFSE FOREVER!!!!!! <333November 15, 2023 at 10:30 pm #164730Whoa. that was a little excessive. sorry guys XD
A hundred cows isn’t actually that many. Our herd is fairly small compared to our neighbors with herds of two to five hundred! We’re more of farmers than ranchers, though personally I enjoy ranching much more. Farming isn’t really my thing. Good thing I don’t have to help much with farming, lol
Cheeseless pizza!!! My cousin eats that, but it’s because he hates cheese with a passion!!! He’s not lactose intolerant or anything, he just hates cheese. We tell him he’s weird, but as you can imagine, that doesn’t change his mind much, XD
Honestly, you’re not missing out on much, in my opinion straight milk is kind of gross.
