She took a deep breath and closed her eyes to clear her thoughts. Reaching for her best arrow, she drew it back, sighting down the shaft at the bull’s eye. She felt the others’ eyes on her, but she could only concentrate on her task at hand. And then she let go. The arrow sped through the air…and landed in the target. It wasn’t in the bull’s eye, but it was close.
She wasn’t satisfied, though. She accepted nothing less than perfection. She drew another arrow, and another, and another…yet the bulls eye evaded her every time.
“I see you’re out of practice,” Ellis said with a smirk. (Sorry if he wouldn’t actually say that, I just didn’t know how else to start this whole thing, lol)
Ottoline glared at him. “I’m just warming up,” she said between clenched teeth. “I’d like to see you get the bull’s eye on the first try.”

“If that was a person, I would have hit,” Ellis told her, frustration burning in his eyes.
“It’s not enough to just hit it,” Ottoline drew another arrow, “Especially if its a deer. Even if you do hit it, it could still run away. Deer won’t go down unless its an arrow through the heart, brain, or lungs.” she adjusted her aim a bit. “So yes, it does need to be perfect, or you’ll have an empty stomach if its a deer, or worse if its a person with a gun. Plus, a person is a moving target, so it’s likely you wouldn’t have hit it,” she kept a straight and serious face as she squinted at the target. The next thing she knew, the arrow hit the border of the bull’s eye. It was only off by about a half inch.
“Beat that, if you can,” she smirked and stepped back.
