I feel a bit like a spammer myself, so don’t worry about that. XD
Hello, Cosmo. I’m so glad to meet you. How was your day?
“Nice to meet you too!” Cosmo shakes your hand and hugs himself, the patchwork sleeves of his jacket bunching up. “Please sit down anywhere. My day was good.”
He swivels around and yells down the hall. “Merlin!”
“What?” A voice calls from another room. Footsteps thud on the floor, and a boy pokes his head in the kitchen.
“There are so many people here,” Cosmo tells him. “They all want to talk with me. Isn’t that insane?”
“Insane it is.” The boy looks at everyone. His face is identical to Cosmo’s, except for his sharper gaze and a leather patch over his left eye. He disappears, but not before saying, “Salutations!”
What are some things you want to do in your life?
Cosmo looks away from you. He’s smiling, but he wears an absent expression as he picks at something on his stool. “That’s complicated. Lots of ifs and whens.”
What is something you are passionate about?
He thinks about your question. “Yesterday, I went for a walk. It was a windy day, and I saw a yellow paper bag dancing down the street. I was in its way. Before I knew what I was doing, I nodded politely and stepped aside for it to pass me.”
He looks at you, then laughs, embarrassed. “I instinctually treat trash as an equal. But what I’ve noticed is… people ought to see the world for the life in it. Even the objects, the things without souls. Because here’s the thing – if you see life in a stuffed animal, that’s amazing. That’s – that’s empathy; that’s your base instincts looking for faces and a chance to connect. That’s such a strange and wonderful idea. And if we look for life, how much more would we try to protect our world? How much more would we connect with each other?”
What’s something people rarely ask but that you wish you knew about others?
“I often wonder what people used to watch on television when they were little.”
What kind of schooling are you having/you have had?
“It’s complicated. We used to learn at home. Now we go to a private school because Mum and Dad both work, and some of the kids there definitely think we’re freaks. Mum and Dad like to teach us when they can. It’s surprisingly hard to get a balanced education when your parents are geniuses.”
What is something you wish was different in your world?
“I wish extinct animals were given more chances to survive.”
What is something you hope never changes?
“Merlin and I, growing up and doing things at the same time. We owe each other that much.”
He suddenly seems very interested in the oven. He pulls out a pie and becomes very busy cutting it and getting out plates. “Would you like some mutton? It’s not fresh, just reheated, but I wanted to serve food.”
Would you agree with this statement: “snakes are great pets too.”
He looks at you as if you just grew another head. “How did you know about Merlin’s pet snake?”
I’m sorry, but I just saw that one of Cosmo’s childhood dreams was finding the bodies of Edward V and Richard. Does he mean Richard II?
He listens to your ramble, his eyes glowing, and you can see him breathing more quickly before he interjects. “I’m sorry. I meant Edward V of England and Richard, Duke of York. The missing Princes. I should say their bodies are probably already found, but when I was younger, I thought there was always a chance they got away. But that crypt looting story is funny. Imagine haunting the bottom of the Thames and telling other ghosts why you’re there.”

March 18, 2026 at 5:23 pm #211363ACK that is embarrassingly long. I promise to fix the error of my ways and write shorter posts. I have majorly overspoken

March 19, 2026 at 7:16 am #211364That was so much fun to read through!
Ok… I’ll talk to Cosmo a bit, then get back to Angelo.
“Nice to meet you too!” Cosmo shakes your hand and hugs himself, the patchwork sleeves of his jacket bunching up. “Please sit down anywhere. My day was good.”
That’s good to hear! I consider sitting on the floor, but pick a chair like a civilized human.
I jump when Merlin enters, and wave goodbye as he goes.
“That’s complicated. Lots of ifs and whens.”
Ah. I get that.
“Yesterday, I went for a walk. It was a windy day, and I saw a yellow paper bag dancing down the street. I was in its way. Before I knew what I was doing, I nodded politely and stepped aside for it to pass me... And if we look for life, how much more would we try to protect our world? How much more would we connect with each other?”
Hmm. That’s a good thought.
“I often wonder what people used to watch on television when they were little.”
Oh, that’s a good one! I didn’t grow up with a TV, but still grew up watching Rin Tin Tin, Story Keepers, and Planet Earth. What did you watch?
“It’s complicated… It’s surprisingly hard to get a balanced education when your parents are geniuses.”
I can imagine it is. What is your favorite thing(s) to learn about?
“I wish extinct animals were given more chances to survive.”
Oh, ditto. Is there any species in particular?
“Merlin and I, growing up and doing things at the same time. We owe each other that much.”
I grow quiet at that. He might have gotten close to a thought I’ve had for a long time.
He suddenly seems very interested in the oven. He pulls out a pie and becomes very busy cutting it and getting out plates. “Would you like some mutton? It’s not fresh, just reheated, but I wanted to serve food.”
Sure! Mutton is a favorite with me, although I’ve never had it as a pie. Did you make it?
How old is Merlin? Are you close in age? I ask because I’m nosy, but also a twin and always interested in sibling dynamics.
He looks at you as if you just grew another head. “How did you know about Merlin’s pet snake?”
I didn’t, but I’m not surprised he had one, considering our conversation. What kind was it? Did you like it?
Ah! That makes sense. That story has bothered me ever since I learned of it. It’s nice to think they might have escaped. Still, the truth does always come out, eventually…. Oh wouldn’t it? “Yes, I got thrown in here because they thought I was the king. A bit of an awkward identity mix up. Do not recommend.” Laughs. Do you believe in ghosts, or do you use the term metaphorically?
You have listened to fears, child. Come, let me breathe on you... Are you brave again? -Aslan
March 19, 2026 at 7:44 am #211365This interview is making me do more research lol.
What are bat folktales like? I’ve never heard one before.
They’re very vivid and lyrical. We usually tell them in rhymes. * chirp-whistles a few lines* I don’t remember the one my name is from, only that is is about mice and guardian angels. There might be a scorpion in it too.
How could wings be a curse?
Well, you’re different for one. You stand out from the wingless mice. And two, you go places. *nervous chatter* Sure, they’re good to have. It’s nice to fly. But it’s dangerous too. If you go too far, you might never come back.
Do you have any friends?
Not really. *absently chews thumb* There is an older bat who’s been nice to me. Maybe we’ll be friends.
I’ve always wanted to use echolocation. What is it like? Is it fun?
I think so. It’s like… *squints in thought* Seeing but with sound instead of light. Echoes are textured. You just have to be able to hear the textures.
It seems to me like you’ve traveled far. What kind of things have happened to you? Have you gone on any adventures?
Far? I’ve traveled farther than I meant to. I nearly got eaten once. And I found a really tasty kind of fly. It’s not as good as spiders, but almost. I think life is one huge adventure.
That bat I mentioned, though? *he waves his wings excitedly* He’s been all over the Mediterranean! That’s what he calls the sea. He’s got lots a stories.
You have listened to fears, child. Come, let me breathe on you... Are you brave again? -Aslan
March 20, 2026 at 6:45 pm #211371There are no deadlines. :]
Alright! Thanks. XD
Also, I entirely forgot to mention that Leander is about 18.
So, Leander, why are you green?? I feel the need to ask. I’m sure you get that question a lot.
Leander is willing to converse, and a smile quickly appears after the question. “People in the past millennia have formed their own theories about why En’Garun are green, and I think most of them are ridiculous. All I could confidently say is that the Almighty wanted it that way. My best friend was not content with that answer. Now he goes around trying to convince others that the En’Garun grew from green beans.”
So you’re an En’Garun, huh? Could you describe what that is?
He stares hard at something in the distance, trying to form an explanation. Then, he looks back with intense focus on his face while he speaks. “The En’Garun are a race of people from the continent of Belnaya, which is inside the world of Eldallion. Anyone who is Belnayan is either classified a Protector or a Mender. En’Garun are Belnayan Protectors. We have an ability to form shadow-figures which can assist in battle. Think of it as a three-dimensional shadow that can hit as hard as a rock on impact.”
Are you a social person? Do you have any friends?
“I would say I’m social,” he pauses for a moment, no longer smiling as he thinks. “Yet I would say that unfortunately yes, I have a few close friends.”
Is there anything you want in your life that is hard to get/accomplish? What drives you, so to speak?
Leander sighs, then suddenly smiles again. He nearly laughs before he talks. “I would enjoy quietness for a few seconds. I’m driven to help people, and I’ll stay by my companions until they’re tired of me.”
What is something unique about you that other people comment on?
“Not exactly. Only people outside of Belanya stare at me and comment, unless my friend starts making a scene about something.”
Do you have any weird phobia/passion? (I liked this question of yours) (Thanks!!)
Leander shrugs. “Nothing unusual. I have a distaste for green beans now because of bothersome, although clearly satirical, theories. Not really a phobia or passion, though…”
What’s your least favorite food?
Leander frowns, then beings confidently, “Soggy crackers dipped in some kind of sauce. People should leave crackers alone. They are completely acceptable as being dry and plain.”

March 20, 2026 at 7:10 pm #211372@everyone here i thought i was going the be able to answer some stuff today but I guess not. Send me something weird tomorrow so I see this thread lol
Gerald handled that. You don’t question Gerald. (if you know you know)
March 20, 2026 at 9:36 pm #211376so my father wants me to inherit his title and academy.
What is your father’s title? (And yours, by extension)
Why don’t your father and sister get along?
I don’t have many hobbies since some things aren’t practical when you’re stationed for war.
Is there an active war going on? How did you get into that station?
In general, do you like hanging out with people more, or being by yourself?
What is your most important personal possession?
When is the last time you felt excited and passionate about something? What was it about?
*Listens to Angelo singing* That’s lovely! It would be cool to listen to a bunch of you singing in flight.
There is an older bat who’s been nice to me. Maybe we’ll be friends.
Having an older friend is very helpful and fun. You should try to be friends with this fellow.
What is your family like? What was your life like before you got lost?
Echoes are textured. You just have to be able to hear the textures.
I’m so jealous. That would be such a fun sixth sense.
I nearly got eaten once.
How?? What happened? Has anyone ever come to your rescue in these crazy predicaments?
He’s been all over the Mediterranean! That’s what he calls the sea. He’s got lots a stories.
What’s this bat’s name? What else do you know about him?
I’m guessing you’re nocturnal, right? What time of the night is your favorite time and why?
What do you think about other animals? What other species do you like to talk to? Which ones are harder to get along with?
Now he goes around trying to convince others that the En’Garun grew from green beans.
I subscribe to that theory, hehe.
Anyone who is Belnayan is either classified a Protector or a Mender.
Describe the dynamic between Protectors and Menders. I’ve never heard of this system before. What is your society like?
We have an ability to form shadow-figures which can assist in battle.
I assume you have that ability. How difficult is it to do? What do you usually use it for in your everyday life?
Yet I would say that unfortunately yes, I have a few close friends.
Unfortunately? *Chuckles* What is that supposed to mean?
Who do you care about the most?
Soggy crackers dipped in some kind of sauce.
Oh goodness. Well, I’ll agree with you there.
Would you describe yourself as hot-tempered or level-headed?
Daredevil or careful?

March 20, 2026 at 9:48 pm #211377I didn’t grow up with a TV, but still grew up watching Rin Tin Tin, Story Keepers, and Planet Earth. What did you watch?
“I watched Planet Earth too! When I was little, I liked Clangers, Bagpuss, Fraggle Rock, Doctor Who… and some of the Ghibli movies.”
I can imagine it is. What is your favorite thing(s) to learn about?
Merlin pokes his head out of a nearby door again. “All Shaffers are under contractual obligation to enjoy biology the most.”
Cosmo exaggerates a sigh. “My family’s blood runs in my veins.”
Oh, ditto. Is there any species in particular?
“Merlin has a bone to pick with the people who decimated the Great Auk. Yes, that happened almost two centuries ago. But as his brother, I support the sentiment.”
Sure! Mutton is a favorite with me, although I’ve never had it as a pie. Did you make it?
“I used pre-made pastry, but otherwise yes. Mum asked me to get that done before she gets back from her business trip.”
How old is Merlin? Are you close in age?
“He and I are fourteen, and we’re twins. For your information – yes, we are genetically identical despite the mutations that make us slightly different. People ask.”
What kind was it? Did you like it?
“He has a black kingsnake.” Cosmo lowers his voice enough to not be heard from the next room. “I… don’t hate it. But he left it in a bag on my bed one time, and it escaped the bag. It was shedding. The amount of scales in my sheets was diabolical.”
Do you believe in ghosts, or do you use the term metaphorically?
“Yeah, I believe in ghosts.”

March 21, 2026 at 11:31 am #211381@whalekeeper finally got to this lol
Sennin, what kind of hybrid are you?
“I’m half Argonite, half Changeling.” The scales on his tail ripple into a similar color as the floor beneath them, before fading back into their typical dark blue-green. The orange stripes take a bit longer to reappear, creating a weird effect. “Mum was the Changeling. My brother–half-brother, we share the same father–he’s a full Argonite. His wife’s a Changeling, though. But their kids don’t look anything like me. Hybrids are…interestin’.”
Also, how do you feel about the rulers of Staten, if you don’t mind me asking? What’s the political atmosphere?
“I….like ’em enough to think they’re worth defending. Right now there’s only five of ’em–just enough to manage the hundred and twenty or so of us. We call them the Talons, since there’s five, like the claws on a hand.” He holds up one hand for emphasis. “We’ve got elections every three years, but I don’t think we have term limits, at least not yet. Tenko was a Talon for ten years, up until he died.” A flicker of sadness crosses his eyes, but it’s barely noticeable and disappears as he continues. “Most of us us were too busy tryna survive to start thinkin’ about political allegiances to one person over another, but recently, now that we’re a lot safer, some of us have started to organize into groups.” He shook his head. “I can’t say I agree with everyone, but I’m sworn to protect ’em all, whether I like them or not.”
Gerald handled that. You don’t question Gerald. (if you know you know)
March 22, 2026 at 3:14 pm #211387Describe the dynamic between Protectors and Menders. I’ve never heard of this system before. What is your society like?
Leander smiles and nods. “I’ll explain the best I can. At Eldallion’s beginning, the Belnayan Protectors and Menders were put in the world to… not rule it, but to keep its order. Every race of Protector and Mender has a different gift. Another nation rose, maybe…” He pauses, his eyebrows furrowing in thought. “Two thousand years ago? They’re called the T’kayons, and they began a war which ended with only a quarter of the Belnayan people remaining, and today Belnayans are cornered into a small continent of land on the west side of the world, while the rest of Eldallion is at war.”
I assume you have that ability. How difficult is it to do? What do you usually use it for in your everyday life?
“It is a bit difficult, but I’ve developed more control over it. There aren’t many En’Garun left who know how to properly use it in battle. I can safely say the shadow-form isn’t supposed to be used for everyday activities. It easily shatters objects.”
Unfortunately? *Chuckles* What is that supposed to mean?
Leander shakes his head. “I somehow make friends with eccentric people. They aren’t unfortunate, so I suppose it’s the situations they get in that make it unfortunate… Because then I’m guilty by association.”
Who do you care about the most?
He thinks about that for a moment, then shrugs. “I don’t know, actually. I think I care about a lot of people. I would say I’m concerned for the mental wellbeing of some more than others.”
Would you describe yourself as hot-tempered or level-headed?
“I used to believe that I was a level-headed,” he says almost gravely, then he smiles and his tone changes. “Yet then my tolerance for stupid decisions was quickly squashed and everyone is now an unusual level of frustrating.”
Daredevil or careful?
“I’m very careful. I try to be, at least.”

March 24, 2026 at 8:34 pm #211390Hiii! I can try to ask one of your characters some questions. I had a few interview questions in mind for this topic a little bit ago and now I’m trying to remember what they all were… (I may only have a few to start off with, if that is okay)
