The new soldier lowered his rifle. “Will you tell me your names if I tell you mine?” he asked.
This man was brave, or stupid, enough to lower his weapon while Ezra still held his out?
Ezra lowered his pistol and glanced at Riker. Riker nodded. Took his hand off his holster.
He felt Eva clutch his arm.
Ezra turned, glanced at Mikkel as well, who also nodded.
Ezra glanced back at the kids they had found, the fox, who was still on the ground, protecting the girl, and all of them, behind him.
He turned back to the new stranger.
“Yeah. So long as you promise not to hurt anyone. So, what’s your name?”

“Yeah. So long as you promise not to hurt anyone. So, what’s your name?”
All of the men lowered their weapons, which made the twins a bit more at ease. But not Nyx.
Which, truth be told, Lyn hadn’t been expecting it to.
”Nyx, love,” she whispered. His ears ticked in her direction, but his eyes never moved. They were still set on this new stranger, the one with short hair and the scar. “If they were going to hurt us they would’ve done it by now. Come on.”
He hissed in reply and Lyn sighed. “Nyyyx…”
”His smell is strange. I don’t like him.”
She almost pointed out that he didn’t like anyone, but instead placed her hands on her hips. She glanced around, trying to take in everything.
The three men in the group were dressed in uniform of some sort, but…she didn’t recognize them. A bit boring to look at if you asked her, but they could easily be spruced up with the right colors and accessories. The woman, a tan-skinned lady, was clutching onto one of them quite tightly. They were probably a thing, if Lyn has to guess. You usually didn’t hold someone like that if you were “just friends.”
Well…
She glanced at Ara and November.
Then again…
Her thoughts were shaken by Nyx’s continual hissing and she rolled her eyes. “That’s enough,” she said, finally stepping forward and scooping him by the scruff of the neck.
Everyone looked back at her; she’d obviously said that a bit loudly.
it didn’t help that Nyx started chittering in her grasp.
”HEY! What’s the big idea?!”
”Oh chill,” she cooed, bringing him into her chest and snuggling him, despite his cries. He huffed, his eyes still ticking back to the strangers in front of them.

Oh good! I would love to do that! Okay, this is my favorite character so far. I’ve never really done this kind of thing before so here goes: (He wasn’t originally my MC, but now he’s stealing the spotlight of my writing)
Name: Payton
Nationality: Alvastian (medieval kingdom)
Family: Camron (father), Vanessa (mother), Quinn (younger brother)
Age: I have no idea right now!! XD
Hair color: Blonde, straight
Eye color: Emerald green
Personality: He can be proud and stubborn but would do anything to not to disappoint those he looks up to, especially his father. He feels like he must prove himself, but when he lets down his guard – mostly when alone – it reveals how vulnerable he really is. ***Payton’s older brother died in battle when he was a little boy, and Payton feels like he is still living in his older brother’s shadow, but he has a redemption arc in the end that I’m still working on***
Biggest Fear: failing expectations

(I’m not sure how many characters I need to have so here’s my MC. I’m not exactly sure if I will use him because I don’t want to spoil too much about him, but I feel like he really needs some development)
Name: Ethan (Ha ha. This isn’t really his name, but that would be a major spoiler for my first book so this is his KP alias XD)
Nationality: can’t say, but it’s not Alvastian
Family: Sorry, Ethan, you’re on your own, buddy.
Age: I never really know the age of some of my characters, so all I know here is that he’s an adult.
Hair color: Black, slightly wavy
Eye color: Dark brown
Personality: Loyal and brave, he’s an amazing soldier living in a city that suspects his loyalties because of his past. In response to this, Ethan (ugh, can’t get used to calling him that) struggles a lot with self-doubt and has built a wall around his heart.
Biggest Fear: Losing trust….or not being able to merit it in the first place.
Faith: He’s a Christian. Aaaah! I wish I could share his conversion story ’cause I love it, but I can’t. Anyway, while he trusts God, he still has room to grow in learning to trust Him when no one else trusts him.

I forgot to put Payton’s faith in: He’s been raised in a Christian home, but he struggles with equating good works with meriting salvation since he lives trying to keep up to expectations.

Hair color: Black, slightly wavy
Eye Color: Brown
Skin color: Tan
He is kind, caring, protective, loyal, honest, intelligent, loving, and generous, but will speak his mind no matter how popular it is, and he has a tendency to come off as uncaring and cruel, but he’s just being (brutally) honest. Sometimes he has difficulties getting words out the right way, so that’s another reason why he can come off that way. 🙂
He fears failing his kids and losing those he loves.

@queen_of_alvastia. Ooh, good to know! 🙂 I totally understand that, too. I think we’ve all been there at some point in life.
Leon was raised in a Christian home and his wife is a strong Christian woman, however…he doesn’t really have a relationship with God. For him, he knows of God but doesn’t truly know God, get what I mean? 😉
I already think Leon sounds interesting and I haven’t read anything but his profile! 🙂 This should be interesting….

Yes I know! I struggled a lot with that (mostly in the area of feeling like if I didn’t have enough “fruit” I couldn’t be really saved) so I identify a lot with Payton when I write him.
Yeah, I get it! I think many people struggle with that. Their two struggles put together…it’ll be neat to see how this plays out! 😊😊
