EEK! A week?! Sorry gang, I have not been good with this.

Rowen
Before Rowen knew what was happening, he was suddenly lifted into the air then placed several feet away from the fight. “What the-”
And then Hugo ran towards the snake, sword in hand, shouting, “Friend power!”
Rowen shook his head, turning back towards the fight. “Emeline, get out of here.”
“What? I’m not-”“Go now.”
Emeline let out an exasperated sigh, then turned and sprinted down the corridor. Rowen watched her for a moment, then let out a breath he had been holding. He whirled round and grinned. “This’ll be fun.” He noticed then that Barnes seemed to be stuck, and one glance at the snake told him that somehow, through it’s magical powers, it was freezing her.
“Rowen, we’ll distract the snake while Tenz gets ready to strike.” He heard Percival say.
Rowen frowned, “Who gave you the power to tell me what to do?”
Percival cursed under his breath, and as he joined Hugo he yelled, “Fine, narr, why don’t you run away like Emeline?”Rowen grit his teeth and charged towards the beast.
Percival crept along the wall, then slashed at the side of the snake and stabbed into it. The snake let out a mighty hiss, but didn’t release Barnes. Instead, it shot out another wave of scales.
"No! Monkeys should have pets, all monkeys should have pets!"
I will get to this in juuuuust a second. I think Ruth is on a Christmas trip because she hasn’t appeared in a while.

Barnes
Percival and Rowan’s voices passed Barnes. She blinked, unable to comprehend what they were saying, eyelids drooping.
The snake began to hiss softly, swaying back and forth. Its scales glittered, fluttering and shifting as it moved. Its eyes clouded over, then turned into a familiar friendly violet blue.
“H-Hello…” The voice was a gentle man’s tone, with an undercurrent of whispers. “Hello, Lucille…”
“What?” Barnes barely restrained the break in her voice. The words penetrated her mind.
“Little girl… Stay strong in the face of these horrible children. I know they frighten you. I know you flinch under their touch.”
“No…”
“Listen to me. Do as I say.”
The voice slithered around her, and her mind began to turn in circles. Barnes could only struggle against the mindlessness for so long. She knew it was hypnotizing her, but that knowledge, for whatever reason, only urged her to give in quicker.
“Tenz… take my knife…” She threw a spare blade to the floor near him, metal clashing against the stone, and stumbled to her knees. Her eyes turned into slits.
Hugo
Hugo glanced up, just as Barnes whipped herself back up to her feet. Her body lost its stiffness, so that her arms swung loosely at her sides.
Hugo backed away. “Uh, guys… Don’t look into the snake’s eyes…”
Barnes grunted. Her shoulders had rolled back, like coils about to spring, and she turned on Tenz with a broiling force. She cocked her head, mask twisted, and pinned the young man to the wall by his neck.

Emeline
Emeline looked back, catching her breath. She could hear the clangs of metal echoing along the halls, and the hiss of the snake.
What am I doing? She had stopped running now, still staring down the hall. I can’t run away now and leave Rowen to possibly die. What kind of a coward am I? She dashed back down the hall, slowing down as she approached the noise. She crept along the wall in the shadows, and gazed out. Before her, Rowen, Percival, Hugo and Reid fought the snake, and Barnes seemed to have lost her mind. She had Tenz pinned against the wall, ready to strike.
Emeline crept closer, her heart racing. She took a deep breath and called, “Lady Barnes, what are you doing? Put Tenz down now!” (no idea what to do lol)

Actually, I had nothing to post for a few days so I kinda just forgot about KP, and took a break… now I’m back with drawings Andrew really wants me to post, and writings about Baron, and 77 notifications and loads and loads of stuff to read and reply too.

Tenz and Reid
Reid launched his tendrils at Barnes, engulfing her and pulling her away from Tenz.
“Tenz! Kill the snake, don’t hold back! Snap his neck!” Reid yelled.
Tenz nodded, the blue surrounding him grew thicker, and he rocketed towards the snake. He wrapped his arms about the snake’s great neck, as it twisted and curled and shook itself, trying to rid itself of Tenz, but the boy held fast. Tenz twisted the snake’s head with ease, and a great crack resounded in the hallway. He had broken the snake’s spine.
If you want to continue our fight with the snake, since we have already established it’s magical, we can say that breaking its neck doesn’t kill it. I can’t rein Tenz and Reid’s power too much without being unfaithful to them, so I wounded Reid so he wouldn’t be strong but Tenz…he would go for the kill. sorry if this ruined anyone’s plans for this fight.

Her sight flooding back to her, Barnes found one of her wrists was held by one of the magical tendrils. Her other hand was free, and Reid was recovering from a hit to the face.
In front of them, the snake lay on the ground. Its eyes faded from blue to a cloudy ochre, powerless and dead.
Barnes immediately clutched her head with a gutteral sound. “What happened?”

Percival
“Tenz! Kill the snake, don’t hold back! Snap his neck!” Reid yelled. With one swift movement, Tenz had his arms wrapped around the serpents neck, and twisted it. The head fell to the ground with a thump that echoed across the halls.
“What happened?” Barnes asked, holding her head and appearing to have returned to normal.
“That snake hypnotized you or something, you nearly went crazy on Tenz.” Rowen replied as he wiped his bloody daggers with a spare cloth. “Tenz killed it though.” Percival noticed him shoot an icy glance at Emeline, then darted his eyes back.
“Marvelous job, Tenz!” Percival smiled, wiped his own blade, and sheathed it. He turned to Barnes, “Lady Barnes, are you feeling alright? We can take a break if you like.”
"No! Monkeys should have pets, all monkeys should have pets!"
Barnes
Barnes nodded in thanks to Percival, and wrung her hands a little, twisting her skirt in a rare moment of nerves. “That would be… good. Thanks, Percival.”
No one else seemed to be greatly hurt. Emeline had returned, and Hugo was unscathed. The two brothers were interacting out of earshot. As the young fighters regrouped, Barnes sat back against the castle wall and fell into silence.
People couldn’t tell what she felt at a given time. That meant nobody could manipulate her, or make fun of her.
For a while, she had been glad. Now, even Barnes herself couldn’t tell how she felt. That was probably why the snake had hypnotized her so easily.
After a moment of waiting for her nausea to lessen, during which her knee jerked impatiently, Barnes got up. “Tenz. I’m… very sorry if I hurt you. And you, Reid, as well.”

Tenz and Reid
Reid’s green glow faded, and his tendrils disappeared. Tenz left the snake, catching his brother as he stubbled.
“You should have protected yourself from the snake’s scales,” Tenz quietly chided, his own glow still remaining.
“I had to focus on the others. How long will I be out after you heal me?”
“I’m not sure. You were using your energy before.”
“Tenz. I’m… very sorry if I hurt you. And you, Reid, as well.”
The twins turned their gaze upon Barnes. Reid’s mouth twitched with a smile. “Don’t worry about it.”
Tenz watched her as if she was a stranger, before turning his attention back to his brother, his blue vapor spreading over Reid to heal him. As Reid lost consciousness, Tenz created his own version of his tendrils, carrying his brother.

“That would be… good. Thanks, Percival.” Barnes nodded towards Percival and took a seat on the ground. Percival smiled back and leaned against the wall.
“Tenz. I’m… very sorry if I hurt you. And you, Reid, as well.” Barnes said after a moment.
“Don’t worry about it.” Reid answered. Tenz didn’t say anything, his blue vapors enveloped Reid.
As the group rested for a few minutes, Rowen walked over to Emeline and frowned. “I told you to stay back.”
“And run away like a coward while you and everyone else possibly die?” Emeline challenged.
“We were fine, we didn’t need your help.”
“I don’t care if you needed me or not, I’m not letting my only brother be killed while I hide in fear.”
Rowen sighed, then grinned. “You know, you can be real annoying sometimes.”
Emeline laughed, “I know, but I also think I’m right.”
“Maybe, I just don’t want you getting killed.” Rowen turned towards the others, “Are you all ready to keep exploring or do you need more time?”
