The group decided it was best to get moving, to look for the people they were looking for, and, plus, no one wanted to stay in the pretty creepy mirror room.
Steve led the way, one of the onesĀ mostĀ capable of protecting them from harm if he needed to, and the others all fell in behind.
Jason pushed Steffi’s wheelchair as Steffi held Aiden in her lap.
Steffi brushed a strand of her black hair out of her eyes. “…Do you think anyone else is close by, Jason?”
He shrugged. “Maybe. Who knows. Let’s hope so, because it seems as if almost everyone here is searching for someone.”
Arabella was searching for friends. Eddie was searching for her twin sister. Asher was searching for friends of his own. And Steve…well…if he was here…he was looking for Bucky, wherever he was.
Steve just hoped that he was safe, wherever he was.
Hopefully Viola hadn’t found him.Ā
Steve let out a deep breath, gently and quietly getting his muscles to loosen.
They continued down the hallway that didn’t seem to end, their footsteps quietly echoing off of the mostly bare walls.
Henry clutched at Adolphus’ jacket sleeve. “Daddy, I’m-”
A loud crash sounded.
Adolphus held Henry tight, Steffi held Aiden tighter, Jason’s fingers rested only inches from his pistol, Arabella and Asher stuck close together, tense, and Steve’s grip on his shield tightened.
Whatever that crash was…something…orĀ someone had caused it.
Long story short…
they weren’t alone.Ā

You guys could add another charrie, but if youād rather not, the crash could just be Dante, who maybe snuck off while everyone was sleeping to go cause some shenanigans. Or maybe Maylee or Layson snuck off and caused the crash? Anythingās fine with me.

Ellie didnāt need the blonde healerās permission, but she nodded politely anyway and stood up. With a last concerned glance over her shoulder at Serin, she walked down the hall.
It was dimly lit like a lot of the castle. She shivered in the cold despite putting her hoodie back on. Suddenly, a figure stepped into view. Ellie immediately reached for her gun, but paused when she recognized the manās strange red and blue outfit. She blinked in surprise.
The man also looked surprised at first, but then he smiled at her.
āEddie, you might want to see this.ā
She blinked again. Wait. Did he just say-
āElls!ā
A familiar yellow hoodie came rushing at Ellie before she even got the chance to see the person inside it. But she knew who it was anyway. Ellie quickly found herself in a tight hug, and this time it didnāt make her flinch. The hallway now seemed much warmer and brighter.
āHi,ā said Eddieās muffled voice at her shoulder.
āOh. Hi.ā
They stayed in that hug for a long time. Eddie squeezed hard, but Ellie was the last to let go. When she finally did, Eddie smiled playfully at her.
āDid you miss me?ā
Ellie laughed and rubbed her eyes with her sleeve.
āNot one bit,ā she lied.
More people were congregating in the hall now. Ellie didnāt recognize the people Eddie was with, but they looked harmless for the most part. Allen and Serin had also just come around the corner. Layson, Maylee, Silvia and Dante seemed to be lingering behind.
āSo, did you or one of your friends trip or something? That was a pretty impressive crash.ā Eddie teased.
āThatā¦ wasnāt any of us.ā Ellie said, looking warily around the room.
Eddieās smile faded.
āWait. But if it wasnāt you, then who else is here that we donāt know about?ā
