Those are great names!! I didn’t even make the connection that Catherina was Rina’s full name!! *slaps palm to forehead* By the way, when you were listing off those names, you reminded me that I very nearly named Deek ‘Maverick’. That was his name in the early drafts XD
I know!! Sometimes I just shake at my head at my characters and wonder why they do such bad things. “Nope, don’t do that, you’re gonna regret that decision in the next chapter… Oh well.” XD
Oh, saaaame. Sometimes I need to think of a name on the spot and I’m too lazy to scroll through name generators, so I just put in something random. I really need to break that lol. Do you usually use Chinese names? (I love Chinese names ;-;)
@writerlexi1216 Nowadays I would say yes, because I think that I already used up all the Western-style names I like. I’ve even begun to reuse them for different stories. ;-;

Ah, I can be pretty lazy too. My laziness usually looks more like “You’re a guy. You’re from somewhere in the western part of the world. I’ll name you James.” Or “Girl + English = Catherine.” I have no creativity!
Until I do, and then I spend about three days scouring the internet for five forenames and seven surnames (all for one character) and all the possible meanings and origins of each. Then I’ll probably scrap them all and still go with James.

I thought the name ‘Maverick’ fitted him, but I fell in love with ‘Deek’ more XD If you wanna hear his first-ever name… *gulps* … it was Gabriel, which does not fit him at all lol. I only went with Gabriel because he belonged to an entirely different series which I completely scrapped about a year ago.
Some of Caira’s early-draft names were Maggie, Esmé, Auryn, and Mya. Also Chiara, until I changed it to ‘Caira’.
Sheesh, that feels like forever ago… I love looking back on old draft material because it’s soooo cringeworthy XD
@writerlexi1216 Yeah, he is definitely not a Gabriel! Deek is perfect for him! And those are fantastic names–but Caira is the best!
Looking back at old stuff is soooo bad for me! I can only shake my head at my weirdo younger self!
