@rae ahhh ok sounds really cool.
maybe they just like wearing those hats. I mean, look at him, who doesn’t think that looks cool? I’ve wanted a hat like that since before I ever discovered where it came from.
Also, that style of “hat with brim all the way around” is kinda standard issue if you’re in a hot climate (I mean, think fishing hats and stuff) , and soldiers/snipers/etc have the edge of the brim folded up so it doesn’t get in the way of their weapons or something like that. I remember looking it up.
also funny enough, the show ran from 1966-1968, which is shortly before the time period in which the story I pulled Sniper from is set. I was thinking of doing little oneshots/comedic short stories for each character, and maybe his will have a part where he walks past one of his teammates watching TV, sees that character on screen, and is like “huh, that guy looks a little like me, but American” lol
Where'd I get ya this time? The liver? The kidney? I'm runnin' outta places to put holes in ya.
August 26, 2024 at 5:42 pm #184980I want to know how long it took you to draw your Marvel one. It’s just so perfect!
Tysm!! < 3
Hmmm… I’m going to guess I spent an hour and a half on the sketch, inking, and scanning. 15 minutes on prep, 30 minutes on flatting, an hour coloring, and 30 minutes on effects. I’m probably being conservative here lol, I also spent a good deal of time watching videos on scanning inks and flatting comics, and special effects bc I’m not that great at those things. This is actually my first time drawing effects properly!

August 27, 2024 at 8:49 am #185004Here’s one I did for one of my books. This is Even, my pilot. He’s not having a great day at the moment. But I sure love the angle!!!

August 27, 2024 at 1:35 pm #185023It’s tipping down so the tail will hit the ground first. He was trying to go up to escape the shelling but he wasn’t fast enough. it’ll start flipping as it goes down, but for now the engine killed and it’s falling.
does that make sense?

Oh he’s about to have a much worse time. He brakes his leg when he lands, gets into a gunfight, and then is captured by the most sadistic villain ever.

August 28, 2024 at 12:19 am #185068August 28, 2024 at 12:17 pm #185087I am attempting to improve my skills in digital art. I can’t claim complete ownership of this piece of artwork, because I stole a base from Nickolas Kole and mimicked his style. (Artist of the covers for the second edition of The Wingfeather Saga). Shading I learned from Monika Zagroblena (she has a really great tutorial website for drawing animals). This was done in the legacy version of Sketchbook.
