What Daeus said. 😛 and one other thing. Reading it straight through, you rather overused the word Flamehand. It just shows up a lot when Dallan is addressing Harold. I’d cut it out in one or two instances so it doesn’t get repetitive.

Quinn: Greetings, sir. May you tell us whose house this is? -

Quinn: We’re all in about the same place, Lady Anna. Thankfully, it seems we’re all fairly proficient with them.
*nods* Right, we stick close together and try to make as ambiguous conversation as we can until we find out what sort of man he is. -

Quinn: *gets a little shakily to his feet* I agree with Lady Arianwen. *looks at compass* We’re not too far off course. It looks like that path leads in the right direction, too.

Quinn: It’s swimming to the other side. Building momentum for another charge at us. We’ll have one shot at it before we’re capsized. *pulls out dagger* Everyone take a different spot along the side of the boat. One of us is going to get it.
(I’m not going to be on tomorrow. You guys feel free to use Quinn if need be. Just don’t make him give any…[Read more]

Quinn: *tips head to look at compass* we’ve drifted a little bit more north, but not to far off. I’d go for that shore, to the west, though. It’s more clear and we could get back on course from …

Quinn: I pray we run into no more of her evil sort. *watches the edges of the swamp* that serpent wasn’t the only one… *pulls oar out of the water as a dragon-like thing snaps at it, tearing a bit of the wood off* I’m beginning to think land might be a better bet. Everyone keep your weapons near.

Quinn: Right. *takes the other oar* *hands compass to Anna* Hold this and make sure we keep on course, please.

Quinn: *puts a hand on Arianwen’s shoulder* There were similar inventions in Hradkenny, the port I sail from. I would take a guess that this man is an inventor. *looks at him suspicously* though was might be a more accurate word.
Sir, are you offering us use of that boat? -
Rosey Mucklestone replied to the topic Inter-genre Island in the forum Short Story Critiques 9 years ago
Quinn: I certainly am. *glances back down at compass* *starts back involuntary* What in…? We’re facing northwest now! But that’s the opposite… *looks up at mountain overhead* looks like our bearings just flip-flopped.

Quinn: *takes out compass* Southeast it is, then. *strides up beside Arianwen* *leans over* Pardon, m’lady, but do you know these people?
