Kate Flournoy replied to the topic Short Story Idea (May turn into Novella) in the forum Short Story Critiques 9 years ago
@Cloudy I love her as a villain! 😀 I can think of several ways I would go about making this a short story or novella, but that would be me writing it, which isn’t quite fair. 😉
I would just say play around with the character motivations and relationships and go from there. Go for it. Never know until you try. 🙂 -

@Cloudy I really like the intent/picture of the poem. The only thing I would suggest is either make it more obviously a rhyming poem or more obviously free verse, because I was a little confused by the alternating patterns.
Otherwise, I really like it. 🙂 -

@feedingmygoldfish welcome! Did you draw your profile picture? I really like it. 😀 Have you read “Anne Of Green Gables?” You seem like someone who would enjoy her. 😀

@feedingmygoldfish
Yes, that little bit about the water flinging was pure comedic gold. And so stinking true, too. Everyone’s already asked you a lot of questions, so I won’t add anymore to your plate. Hope to see you around the forum !!! 😀 *disappears dramatically with a snap of her fingers* -

I’m not that great at poetry, but right here:
His soul must waver and burn no more,
And then, I will finally settle the score.
He’s robbed me of my love,
He now shall burn and the likes thereof.
They shall burn. You suddenly insert an “I” and it gets a little confusing as to who is narrating? Phoenix? The author? A narrator? So either c…[Read more]

*pats you on back and flings glitter everywhere* Congratulations!
1. How many of you write extended outlines? Or do you simply start with a basic outline, or just dive in at the first draft?
I don’t write extended outlines, just because I lose interest in the story. I do try to write a basic outline with a rough estimate of how many words will…[Read more] -

@winter-rose you’ll probably be done by the time I can write, but once I finish baking bread this afternoon, (I have to start by 2:00 p.m.) since the weather is spectacular, I’ll be in my favorite spot mapping out my children’s story. 😀

Kina Lamb replied to the topic Scripture Memorization! in the forum General Writing Discussions 9 years ago
Today I reviewed Matthew 6:1-4. It’s funny how when I first memorized that small passage, it took me about half an hour but now it would take me about 10 minutes. Memorizing just gets easier and easier guys!
