But from the ones I have read, I believe one of the things that make good mysteries is when there are no apparent clues shown in the beginning and don’t reveal all the secrets in the following chapters. My favorite character is probably Seia, who I’m writing about now.  She’s always been told she is nothing, but she is the type of person who can’t be beaten.  She’s resilient but gentle (and slightly competitive 😉) and all she wants is to be loved.

Ah, I believe my favorite character is the MC of my current WIP.
But following closely in second place is one of the two MCs in my short story EverHappens, Adrian. Adrian hides behind an intensely competitive and sarcastic mask but would put himself aside for someone who truly needed him (which is exactly what he does at the end of the story).

Please don’t die!  Of course I’ll design some for you!!  What I do for mine is I create a list of 5-7 aesthetic words that I think of when I imagine that character.  For example, my MC, Seia, makes me think of these things:

My MC does often get annoyed at him (actually they both get annoyed with each other and are often very sarcastic). But even so, they would risk themselves for each other and have several times.
