Currently, I haven’t been writing a lot of fantasy since my current WIP is more of an adventure that I’ve been careful to keep fantasy out of for plot reasons.
But I do love writing it, especially the worldbuilding:)But DO NOT get discouraged by first drafts. I recently looked through a few first drafts of an author whose…[Read more]

Oh my goodness, I love your first line, it immediately made me wonder about the character:)
Here are the first three sentences from the prologue in The Snow Warrior. The prologue picks up a few days after she’d been abandoned. She didn’t have her Title or sword then either, so it’s one of the few ‘before’ scenes in the story.
The…[Read more]

Ooh, that sounds like a great scene:) I’m writing a couple of scarp scaling scenes too, but since it’s set in the 9th-century era, I wouldn’t be much help with the lingo.

Abigail.M. replied to the topic Fanfiction in the forum General Writing Discussions 5 years, 2 months ago
I used to think of fanfiction as a travesty to the writer’s original work, but not so much anymore.
It’s fun to write and a great way to stretch different skills:) I think what bugged me about fanfiction in the past was when characters’ personalities weren’t portrayed accurately or were made to act out of character. But…[Read more] -

Abigail.M. replied to the topic What Does Being a Writer Mean to You? in the forum General Writing Discussions 5 years, 2 months ago
Being a writer is so much a part of me that if I wasn’t a writer, I’d literally be someone else.
To me, it means just about everything. To be able to mold worlds with the tip of a pen, to live with and fight with (or against) characters that become real, to be able to live hundreds of lives in one lifetime. And to do this to further…[Read more] -

I agree with you, writing is a part of me that I can’t function without, and when it’s taken away, I feel a little emptier. 🙃 But it’s also because Jesus called us to spread his gospel, and
IÂwe can do it together. It’s a noble calling and I’m up for the challenge. 😉 Writing helps us do that and I’m never giving it up. -
