I like both.

Lucy had to choke down a snort. She took the piano lid and pulled. It was heavy but had no hinges. It fell off with a thunderous boom. She scampered back, lost her balance, and sat down suddenly. Dust rose and she let out two sharp sneezes.

My prose is weird lol. I kept it in my style (sorta like my fanfic) but I also wanted to inject a bit of the style from books I like.

I read it, and I have to say, it immediately captivated me.

Not only does the Prologue promise us a swash-buckling tale of heroics and battles, but I find the prose rather enjoyable. It definitely has that storyteller feel like Uncle Garth in Secondhand Lions (if anyone gets that movie reference). Maybe not exact, but it reminded me of…[Read more]

I love how Lucy is wondering why there’s a piano in the room, while I’m over here like “It couldn’t be empty, and just a couch or chair is boring, so piano was the first thing I thought of”. Zero deep meaning just a brain who was trying to rp while listening to a streamer talk about a mech video game.
