@that_writer_girl_99 Oh, goodness, I certainly hope romances aren’t necessary to a story line, because my book has absolutely zero romance. (And I plan on keeping it that way. No girl is good enough for you, Emolas…) What really annoys me in fiction is when there’s a romance for no other reason than a girl and a guy are main characters. Rogue…[Read more]

@that_writer_girl_99 @jane-maree I’m signing out now. I copy edited a page and a half, sent a few emails, and proof read a thing. See ya round!

@that_writer_girl_99 Ooh, I like your analogy. My love for his compositions go from the outskirts of the galaxy to the…um, other outskirts of the galaxy.

Audiomachine
Kung Fu Panda 2
@daeus That’s great! I can’t wait till I get back up to speed again. -

@that_writer_girl_99 I listen to various different soundtracks depending on the genre of the novel.
For my dystopian trilogy I listen to Jason Bourne soundtracks. For a fantasy/medieval adventure I might go for The Hobbit/How to Train Your Dragon soundtracks or something like that. But only soundtracks. If I go anything with words I find it can be…[Read more] -

@that_writer_girl_99 I listen to music all the time when I’m writing. You should check out Audiomachine, or if you like Celtic, Brunuhville. John Powell’s How to Train Your Dragon tracks are good too. And if you have Spotify, look up the Kingdompen profile, and they have a lot of music. There are also a lot of epic playlists on spotify, if you…[Read more]

@that_writer_girl_99 This question is always present in the back of my head, and usually I’ll just say ‘no’ to myself because 1st, I don’t want to. 2nd: I think they are overdone. I plan (and am) writing in the young adult fiction area, and none immediately come to mind that don’t have a love interest. Particularly ones that are cliche (like @daeus…[Read more]

@that_writer_girl_99 Love the question.
We’ve actually got a resource coming out that you’ll hear about tomorrow that covers this topic (among many other things).
Personally, I’ve never been a romance reader and I never planned to write it either. My position on writing it, however, is shifting. In my current WIP, I included a love interest…[Read more]

I am thrilled to announce the launch of the new Reader Behavior Survey. If you haven’t already read through this thread, the Reader Behavior Survey is a survey I put together that asks readers detailed questions to probe into how they think and what influences them. “Why?” you ask. Well, these…[Read more]

@that_writer_girl_99 this is a good question, and @Aratrea has a good answer. I’d just like to add that first, it is possible to write a good romance without experience if you’re looking on it as essentially a really, really deep friendship. Obviously romance is more than that, but it will be easier to let the character’s slip into romance if…[Read more]
