Warning: this is my personal preference, not facts.
<span style=”line-height: 1.5;”>Well, I personally think they’re over used and almost always the same, but it could be done well I suppose. If I see someone who suddenly discovers they can create fire in a book or movie, my instant thought is “here we go again.”</span>

I agree with everyone else, but I’ll add one thing: Look up Turkish composite bows. Those things were used by ancient Turks and are just about the best bow you can get. They used layers of animal horn, sinew, and wood to make the bow snap. As a result, they could shoot huge distances, like 400 meters. Of course that required…[Read more]

I’m sure you’re sick of people saying hello by now, but as KP members it is our sworn duty to annoy the newcomers. 😉
So, welcome!

@bella-d Welcome, welcome, and for the third time, welcome! Everyone else has already said everything I would have said, so… yeah. Good luck on your historical fiction.

@aislinn-mollisong Hmm…
Here are some random ideas that may or may not make sense in your story:
- The dragons get wounded in some sort of battle and have to recover
- Amber and Brendan need to sneak in somewhere silently and dragons would alert everyone to their presence
- The MCs go somewhere (a cave or something?) where Teine and Terran…

@rochellaine That’s pretty cool. Maybe the reason everyone thinks of the wars and politics is because that’s mainly what they teach in school. 🙂 They should teach more of the other side of things as well.
Yeah, That was what I had in mind. Maybe I’ll give it a try. After I finish my half a dozen other ideas. 😀
It’s funny, because the places…[Read more]

@rochellaine Welcome! Singing is a great skill that, unfortunately, I am lacking in. 🙂 I play percussion, though.
Hmm… 1910 – 1970. I like that period too, but I’m particularly fascinated with the 1910s and the ‘40s – ‘50s. Really I like all history though.
I just had a thought – someone could try to mix historical fiction and sci-fi. The s…[Read more]

@skredder Welcome to the Kingdom of Pen!
That’s a cool username. I actually didn’t know what a griffon was, but they sound cool. Umm… do you know a lot of the Norse language or just your username? As for me, I don’t know a word of it.

Challenge: show
Setting: the feeling of winning a competition
Sweat filled my eyes, and I could hardly feel my toes. My legs felt like limp noodles; my lungs burned like dragon-fire. And yet, as I crossed the finish line, it was the best feeling I’d experienced in a long time.
So, like that? Oh, and are we ever s…[Read more]

@devastate-lasting You go to your profile settings (by clicking your name) and go to edit, and there’s a box you can put your signature in. Warning: there’s a 100 character limit, so it has to be pretty short.

@daeus Yeah, if you think of Snoke that way it does make him seem like a better villain. We was just nonchalantly killing all the rebels and torturing Rey, and laughing the whole time.

@sam-kowal Did you or anyone else notice that the Jedi texts were aboard the Falcon at the end of the movie? When Finn opened a drawer to get Rose a blanket, they were all in there. I looked it up, and it’s official. It’s kind of disappointing to me, because it’s undermines Yoda telling Luke that he needs to let go of the Jedi Order.
So, when…[Read more]

@dragon-snapper Actually, I agree with everything you said but somehow I STILL like TLJ better than TFA. I think the characters were WAY better in TLJ, and that was what did it for me.
- In my opinion, Rey was actually a little flat in TFA (*prepares for onslaught*), and she improved in this one. She finally let go her hope of finding her…

@ethryndal Oh! I thought he said “last of the Knights of Ren.” That explains some things.
Yeah, I agree on Broom Boy. I think he was just ther to make a point.
On Episode X – Yes, there will be a new trilogy, but no, it technically won’t be Episode X. It’ll just be a new Star Wars.

@winter-rose I like the new one! It read a lot smoother than the first, and I wasn’t confused. I don’t think you need the extra line; it adds too much info.
I really don’t see anything else I would change. *thumbs up*
