So, are we only allowed to suggest two books?

It worked for me! (And it looks really cute XD) I’ll submit some ideas later if I think of anything.

I know she says she is a Christian, but apparently she made Dumbledore gay in one of the Fantastic Beasts films. (I haven’t watched them, I’ve just heard this.) So I don’t think she really is. But I do see the parallels.
CRUNCHY APPLES FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!! And yeah, we are somewhat off topic.😆Is it time for suggestions?

I hope every apple you bite into is soft
WHAT!?!?! I can only eat apples if they are soft! I hate crunchy apples!

My brain is just as dry as store bought peanut butter cookies. (Homemade ones aren’t dry enough to describe my brain right now.)
Here it is! Maybe you were looking at a different post.

I don’t think the spells were created to be real incantations. They’re just Latin. The problem isn’t the spells themselves, but that people are using them for satanic purposes, which makes them real. If that makes sense. My parents are fine with Harry Potter, but there is an official spell book that they forbade. But if you think…[Read more]

I think a lot of people don’t agree with magic, so we’re going to keep those books out of the suggestions and hopefully avoid them so that everyone can read each book.
We should probably define “magic”. Most Christians are ok with Lord of the Rings or Chronicles of Narnia magic, however, the controversy seems to be mostly with books lik…[Read more]

Hey, I’d love to join! My family doesn’t agree with magic, so I’ll have to sit out any books that include that element. But that’s, like, the only major thing… (besides swearing, because we don’t really agree with that either). 😄

A book club does sound fun, but my schedule is too full for me to be able to reliably read, so I’m gonna sit this out. If you happen to read a book that I’ve already read, I might pop in here with some thoughts when you’re discussing, if that’s okay. Hope you all have a fun time with this!

While I think this is a really fun idea and I’d love to participate, I just have got wayyyy too much on my plate right now. Mayyybe this summer I could join if my schedule’s cleared up a bit.

I love this idea! I’m not sure I’d be able to participate every time, but I’ll try. Content-wise, I’m okay with most magic (I’ve read Harry Potter), I’m okay with some swearing in a book (i just say something different in my mind or skip over it) but of course there’s a limit, and on the romance side of things, I’m okay with reading ki…[Read more]

About Anne with an E, that’s horrible. Like, can’t you just keep the story for what it is instead of twisting it to fit the status quo?? I severely doubt L. M. Montgomery would ever want to give off a message like that. But that’s why we need to keep spreading the light of Christ through our stories, to show people the Truth. <3

I am also fine with most magic, including Harry Potter, though I know a lot of Christians are not. I’m also okay with some swearing, but not a lot. Stormlight Archive has about the maximum amount of swearing that I’m willing to read. As for sexual content, I’ve read To Kill a Mockingbird, (it was amazing), which is about my limit.
Also,…

This looks fun! I love discussing books with people!
One thing I like to do with book clubs is read the same book at the same time, but not the same chapters. That way everyone can read at their own pace. (I always read ahead anyways lol)
Yes. I always read ahead too.😂
I have some ideas on how we’d decide which books to read — I thi…

Fair enough, lol!
Would you say that you adhere to the doctrine of infallible scripture and/or sola scriptura then?

What I was trying to get at is that God was the first one to use the word “good.” That means that He invented the word. However, it’s debatable whether God invented the concept of good. It would certainly make sense if He were the origin and the source of all goodness, but I would have to really do research in order to fully back that.…

@keilah-hI think @stephie was trying to say she might say something that offends someone. And my point was that even if it does spark backlash, we shouldn’t be afraid to stand for what God has created and called sacred. I think the reason there is such an attack on marriage right now is because the union of a man and woman is a reflection of the…[Read more]
